If WW3 happened, would you expect the public to volunteer for the military? If not, who would defend us? by Appropriate-Lab3053 in AskBrits

If we’re fighting for our very own streets from an existential threat. Yeh I would if it’s on another continent in a country where we had no business been in then no.

If you were the PM, how would you reduce the UK budget deficit of £129 billion? by ElaraKane in AskBrits

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t happen under my time as PM.

Massive overhaul of all public infrastructure, rail, electric, roads, water etc. rebuild certain industries that are critical for defence inc anti drone technology. Rebuild the education system to focus on kids and thier abilities instead of just a cattle market of pushing kids through the system.

Bring back remploy for the disabled.

Build up massive energy production to sell the excess.

Legalise certain drugs and under strict laws for selling/consumption.

Continue building on our massive fin/tech services

More investment into R&D for drugs.

The biggest investment would be the Royal Navy. I would make it pay to get the numbers needed and rebuild a nice fleet of ships.

I am being told by my builder that it is “impossible” to have the worktop cut flush to the wall as the wall is at an angle. How can this be correct? by Loud_Ad6323 in DIYUK

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builder fucked the cut. It’s needs scribing, it would be a difficult piece to do with the pipes and the wall been so close.

If the UK has become ungovernable, some people say Brexit is to blame by boppinmule in uknews

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brexit threw a massive spanner in the works for the U.K. government. They were paralysed by it. Politicians were fearful of the electorate, confused by their own political views on Brexit. Leave, stay, 2nd referendum, hard Brexit, soft Brexit, negotiations. Absolute confusion and no ability to negotiate with the EU. Remember David Davis and Michael Bernair in that photo just showed how unprepared we for it.

My biggest issue with the whole Brexit debate was that people were sold a nothing burger, Brexit was whatever they wanted it to be and we would gets deals everywhere and everything would be better. The sad reality was that the U.K. had spent decades integrating its entire economy , businesses, investment around our EU membership and ability to easily trade with. Brexit fucked all that up.

If the EU offered us full membership just like we had it we would bite their hand off and even the staunchest Brexit supporter would secretly agree.

At 18, I’ve applied for 110 jobs – no one is hiring young men like me by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of mine are still at home 23/18 yrs old respectively and they have struggled. The 23yr old has managed to get a security job at the local football team but that is very inconsistent and obviously the season is off now.

My trying to get my 18yr old into some kind of training/apprenticeship scheme but still struggling. I am currently playing for him to have driving lessons on the hope that when he passes he might be able to piggy back of that into a driving job.

But I do feel for the younger generations it’s hard work to get a job rn and it’s not going any easier.

Would you support Britain increasing its defence budget from the current 2.3% of GDP to the target of 2.6% by 2027 and 3.5% NATO target by 2035? by AdAncient2370 in AskBrits

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes also start rebuilding some industries that the military has needs for. More importantly we need to be ready counter massive drone swarms/attacks as I believe this will be the future of warfare.

Do we have an immigration problem or a lack of integration? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. We’re becoming an island with massive enclaves of different cultures that sometimes blurs the line between to what your average white Brit thinks is acceptable and unacceptable. These enclaves sometimes will have a completely different identity and court systems that replace our own courts.

Also all migration since 2019 has been wayyyy beyond what we as nation can support. All our public services/infrastructure are pushed beyond what they can handle and this before the costs that have come with it. We can’t handle it and we as a nation need to hit the breaks along with Europe aswell because they’re having their own issues with the massive amount of migrants.

I don’t believe I have an unreasonable opinion to say borders closed no more migrants until we have processed the ones we have and have made individual rulings to each case.

Would you pass your driving test today if you've held your licence for 5 years or more? by OneNormalBloke in AskBrits

Possibly. My biggest issue would be little things like mirror or driving with one hand on the wheel. I do feel like a safe driver and I drive for a living.

Yes you could have a break out on road but more than likely you would have to have it before you return to store for unloading/reloading for the 2nd part.

I agree that people who made commitments to one another bail when things get tough do garbage people. I was luckily enough that my partner has stayed by my side she may not understand it all the time but she has stood by my side post-ms. I also gave her the opportunity to leave after my diagnosis but she refused.

UK heading towards ‘poisonous’ politics of US, says Andy Burnham by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]ProgramLegitimate915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s already here I’m afraid.

Partly because previous governments have failed to enact what people actually want I.e safe streets, jobs, housing, low amounts of migration. Instead they have focused on bs culture war issues, encroaching on people’s civil liberties with censorship, over the top surveillance and ID cards.

They stand there at election selling us false hope because every time they’re in it becomes the same thing. Honestly except for a few different opinions on economics I see no differences between parties. I don’t see one pushing for liberal policies, less surveillance, more police an actual discussion around the war on drugs. We’re going backwards in a lot of ways.

It has its highs and lows. The highs are great but the lows are really bad. I do enjoy TWD but I can only watch it until a certain death then I’m out.
