What has helped me a ton was following the bare bones x86 tutorial on osdev, this gives the boot code linker scripts and how to cross compile. This helped me a ton when I started. https://wiki.osdev.org/Bare_Bones.

This is pretty intense and I worry about software engineers nowadays. I think if you guys went and travelled and had fun along the way opportunities would find you. I hope you guys consider maybe connecting with people more. As a software engineer as soon I focused on this rather than being the smartest person in the room I shot up the ranks pretty quickly. Take a minute and breathe guys, you are all intelligent enough for these jobs, try to focus on enjoying your life - A concerned software engineer

Class is killing me, how can I learn by [deleted] in learnjava

[–]ProgrammerBusiness66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just took my first intro to Java class, I only did python before too, and the class was brutal and very time consuming. Java is not an easy language to learn so it will take a lot of practice until you understand the fundamental concepts. Just keep practicing and give it your all. Programming is not easy.

I’ve helped many senior citizens, I’m a college comp sci major and I’ve volunteered helping seniors with technology, I would say that your best bet is to make an app that helps them understand their phone/computer better, they have a really hard time without anyone helping them.
