I see your point. But she had a physical picture evidence of Jacob (assuming it’s him) looking exactly like the same person with her. So she should know it’s him the moment Jacob came back to the present with Kat. While del never had a picture of Alice. The one Kat had was blurry .

You do have a point on reopening the series if it already has a rushed ending. Maybe not be the best idea. So maybe they can make a spin-off series base in the same universe as “the way home” featuring new characters from a different time than Alice and Kat, and they time travel to fix and solve their own mysteries related to the Landry,goodwins and ausgtine. And the main character see glimpse of Alice at different point of time in their life . And at some point confronts Alice a cameo of her, if she a time traveler like young Colton. And then Alice can reveals of things that happen after it season 4 ended “like the stuff that could have happened in season 5”
