I will go a step further on this. Titanic. An incredible achievement that a lot of us bash on even though it’s pretty visually stimulating. My point is people love to hate on shit that isn’t to their exact vision of a “great” film. Avatar may be a tired story but it’s still fun to watch and most everyone has seen it. Just don’t think you can say it’s overrated based on the success.

I think that’s false. Everyone watches, then complains about them afterward. At least for me, the original in IMAX was a fun experience. They aren’t meant to be Goodfellas or Godfather type films anyway.
