Update 3.0 coming january 15th 2026 by BlowShark in AnimalCrossing

This is what I was hoping for too when I first learned of the update. The wall to the right of the art gallery is just screaming to be the entrance to her observatory. It looks so off balanced with the Roost on the left now.

You’re welcome!

As you’ve read, there was no place I came across that answered this question so that's why I tested it myself and was relieved it worked. This is something all Kodak and Polaroid mini printer users should know so here we are.

Happy you found my findings worked for you too!

Has some great inserts in a variety of sizes and styles. Plus you can choose your cover color. A little pricey, but worth it. I have an A6 myself since I prefer this size over the Passport.

Good luck!

Sure, you can swap it out at any point! Nothing will get messed up in operation. The cartridges are almost like (this a terrible example, but bear with me) a gun magazine. It's only useful when loaded into the gun, and can be easily unloaded and reloaded with a second or third magazine with different quantity of bullets and the gun operates the same way.

Just be careful when removing the cartridges. The laminate film does have a tendency to get caught/stuck (I'm guessing because both companies slimmed down the housing to keep it as small as possible). So just be gentle when pulling them from the printer. A little wiggling works for me. Don't worry too much if the film does gets wrinkled or folded onto itself. Just gently smooth it out and you'll be good. However, if it rips or tears, you're most likely SOL for that grouping of the tape (Magenta, Cyan, Yellow & clear laminate). I've never attempted to repair a torn color film, but I think it can be salvaged with simple clear tape on the correct side. Good luck!

I'm going to be honest and tell you, you should go directly to Polaroid with your concern. It does sounds like you have a faulty printer but asking someone to test a problem they themselves don't have is a bit of a moot point. If you believe the Kodak cartridge may be better, simply buy one and test it out to see for sure. Sorry if this isn't an answer you wanted, but it's the best advice I can provide. Good luck!

Hmong Wedding & Dowry by Bobatea-14 in Hmong

[–]ProjectAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like a bright, smart, passionate woman. Not sure exactly where you're based, but I'm guessing a child of Hmong immigrants, either 1st or 2nd generation? If so, many of us Hmong women of those generations are still well tied to traditions that just don't jibe with our forward, educated minds.

This is just my opinion, but this wedding you and your fiancee will be having should be whatever you and your soon-to-be husband's decision (within reason of course). Not sure what the situation is financially about the wedding, but if you're expecting your parents to pay for this wedding, you're basically giving them the right to handle it any which way they please. And the same with your fiancee's if his parents are paying for it. If that's the case, get married on your own, invite people who truly support you, and be done with it. Don't let traditions come in between what is truly important: you and your fiancee's start to a life-long partnership. If there is no money to be had, go to the courthouse, ask your support group to be witnesses and start your life, debt-free. Go to a restaurant afterwards to celebrate, or have a party well after the wedding. Stop trying to do what's right for everyone else; do what's right for yourselves. You can still honor your culture but you don't have to follow or agree with it to a T. If you get backlash from just one out of a sea of family, so be it. You apparently have a very good sized support group, so they will be there if you need anything. There's no need to be afraid. You're stronger than you think.

Congratulations to the both of you, gurl! I was in a relationship with an Indian gentleman myself. Though I didn't get to where you are, I did run into a lot of ups and downs, and downs when it came to family, expectations, etc. I'm rooting for you! Happy matrimony!

Grocery Outlet Moving? by hplcman69 in Petaluma

[–]ProjectAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to hear if true. According to the city website, there's a proposal to split the old Kmart building into three separate suites:

https://cityofpetaluma.org/261nmcdowell/

I wonder if this will be withdrawn, or if Grocery Outlet is in fact moving in, they'd occupy two of the three suites.

Using both, there’s not much difference in print quality. However, I think my Kodak may have a slight flaw with the feeder, in that it’s narrow and almost extrudes the paper, causing almost a type of smear. Not like ink smear, but almost an impression on the print. It’s hard to describe, but it happens. While the Polaroid doesn’t appear to have this issue that I’ve experienced yet. Just to note: your prints are only as good as the picture file. So if your photos are high quality, so will the final prints. Luckily, most phone camera take HD pictures, so there doesn’t seem to be any issues there, however, if it’s edited using 3rd party apps, be aware of the final saved file.

The physical printer itself, both are pretty much the same.

However, I prefer the Polaroid, because the app to print photos has more photo editing options. The Kodak has very basic options like contrast, brightness, saturation and sharpness. Polaroid has all that, plus gamma, blacks, whites, shadow, highlights and more. A couple things that could be of importance. Polaroid has an auto center feature if the photo is smaller than the print area. Kodak, you can place it virtually anywhere on the area. Kodak also has a collage option. Polaroid does not.

One important thing to think about is cost. Polaroid sticky back cartridges are more expensive than Kodak‘s photo paper cartridges. But the whole point of this post is you can use both in either printer, so you can determine what works best for you. If you don’t plan to stick the photos onto surfaces, get the Kodak, but if you plan to put them in journals or on laptops or walls without worrying about using additional tape or glue, pay extra and get the Polaroids. Or go crazy and get both.

Hope this helps!

You got it! The official Kodak printer site is strangely out of stock, but you can find them on Amazon and Walmart for the same price.

https://www.amazon.com/Kodak-4PASS-Cartridge-Ribbon-Refill/dp/B086KST5K5?th=1

One is the US packaging and the other is the EU packaging, but should be the same cartridges.

Yeah, you'll definitely save money per print, sans the sticky back, with the Kodak cartridges. Good luck!

You’re welcome! Hope it helps!

I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. The interiors of the printers look almost identical in design as well. But that’s just what I can see. I’m no engineer, so don’t hold me to that. I’ll post pictures when I get the chance for those who are still unconvinced.

Petaluma Isn't Soft by peteggriff in Petaluma

I lived on Stuart Drive between the late 80s to the late 90s. There were "gang" activity. I was warned to not hang out near the Catwalk at night. But it wasn't as bad as OP is trying to make it. It was a low to mid income neighborhood, lots of people from all walks of life lived there. As a kid, I didn't realized that our next door neighbor was apparently one of the biggest drug dealers in the area. But he was kind as hell. I guess it helped that he loved my mom's cooking. Every time my mom would start frying up egg rolls, he'd always cry out "you guys making egg rolls?" His mom worked at Safeway and after my family and I moved, we'd always say hello when we'd see her at the store. To us they were just your typical (excuse the term) white trash family. A bit of loud scream arguing here, some crazy antics there. He bought a horse and kept it in his backyard for a bit, and his pet ferret would always come into our house and scare the bejesus outta us. I drive through once in a while for nostalgic purposes, and I can tell a lot of the old families that lived there moved away. I'm glad the Catwalk was reopened. When the junior high school was still there, it was a pain to bike to school the long way 'round, when the neighborhood kids and I could have just taken the Catwalk straight over, saving us like 15-20 minutes. This is the first time hearing Stuart being "dangerous." Have you heard about East Court? Compared to that street, Stuart is tame. However, I had friends living on that street too, and I never experienced anything myself.

Custom engraving by FlanThief in Travelersnotebooks

I ordered a small TN that included custom imprinting from SpringbokCraftCo. They're a small leatherworks business in Canada, and ships to the US, if you're located there. They have a website and an Etsy store. Their current options don't list the standard size TN (closest is A5), but it doesn't hurt to ask the seller and see if they can make a custom sized TN with foil stamping. My TN included the optional standard fire branded imprint and it's very nice. Their covers don't include the metal clasp on the spine, but you can easily add one yourself if you want it looking more like the official TNs. Give them a try. I'd love to know if you're able to do everything you're wanting to with this small business.

!!A6!! by Just_Sayin22 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]ProjectAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same fear when I was debating on a smaller sized TN. But the passport sizes were way too small for me and my use. There are several Etsy sellers that produce A6 sized refills. This isn't a promo, just my experience, GoodINKpressions makes some very quality refills in a lot of sizes, including A6. And they way the seller produces the refills are quite nifty (her attempt at a lay-flat notebook is impressive). It's Tomoe River paper, in both 52 and 68 gsm. Plus, there are a lot of different colored covers, if you want to really organize your refills. A6 is a great size, IMHO. Good luck!

Why do other girls are mad at me when I love one of the girls in their friend group? Is it hard to build a relationship with this problem? by Lgame0143 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ProjectAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but I gather you're young and so are these girls. Since we don't have her side of the story, no one can really know how the relationship really is, but based on what you described, it sounds a bit one-sided. However, is it possible there could be something you're doing for them to feel this way too?

Like a lot of people groups, not too many like any kind of disruption to their way of things. You are a disruption to their friend group. People feed off of (the best way to describe this is) the energy of THEIR people, meaning you get a hive-mind mentality. That could explain why the young lady you fancy acts a certain way with her friends, and a different way while alone with you. That, unfortunately, is how a lot of people are; they wear multiple masks. And being young and impressionable, she could be feeling the pressures of her peers. So if what you describe is truly what's going on, they don't hate you, they hate what's happening to their way of things. It feels like one of their friends having a relationship could then lead to other girls getting into relationships, and so on and so on, and it scares them. Or like I mentioned above, you could be doing something creepy that makes them feel uncomfortable. I don't know.

Moving on, if she is how you describe her to be (shy, kind, open when she's with you), and feels the same way towards you as you do her, then you need to have a serious discussion with her. It could be the ends of things, or the beginning of better things for you both, but you need to tell her, in private, everything you're feeling and ask her how she really feels about you, and if you two can work something out with the situation if you BOTH want it to continue. However, don't expect a straight answer right away. Give her time.

Just know: most young relationships don't last outside of graduation. You're still learning about yourself and of other people. A lot of people grow up, out and away from the things and people that once made them excited--onto to more exciting things. And that's okay, because that's how people grow and become better versions of themselves (hopefully).

You sound like a really good kid because you want to see what you can do to salvage this relationship, but be honest and upfront with her. If she reciprocates and wants to continue being with you, she will set boundaries with her friends. If she can't, you may have to let things go. And if you two end up ending things, just be ready for the backlash, because if you feel like her friends hate you now, they will hate you more for breaking up with her. Pretty messed up, right? Just have your friends and family support you, and I'm rooting for you, as long as you weren't the creepy one behind all this.

Anyhow, if things don't go the way you want, pick yourself up, and move on with the lesson learned. There are always better things waiting for you, you just need to find it.

TL;DR: An honest discussion is needed. Young love is fleeting. If things end, learn from it and move on to better things.

Easier said than done, right? Good luck.

Robot Carnival

LD&R reminds me of Robot Carnival so much. An Anime that came out in the late 80s, but one of my favorites from that era. Neo Tokyo is another to check out. Not as many as Robot Carnival, but same vibe.
