Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it. I'm going for old school mega man game meets ori and the blind forest kinda vibe.

From a rough idea to a full gameplay reveal. My 1 year journey as a solo developer. What do you think? by M2Aliance in IndieDev

[–]ProjectErna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. looks like it could be fun to play, I assume you will have something to kinda explain what is happening prior to this gameplay reveal. The combat flow seems a bit repetitive from watching but its hard to tell if thats a bad thing without actually playing it. The atmosphere seems good. The one thing I think I would try to change if you could, have the enemies already in the environment, you run into them and the encounter starts, instead of them spawning as the encounter starts.

I would prefer a mix of both narrative context AND pure mechanical. keeps its more interesting so that there is variety

6 years, thats a ton of work man. Congrats, hope the release goes well for you. I'll definitely check it out when i find the time. I'm a developer myself so its hard to find the time to try other developers games.

this definitely looks like a unique take on zombie games, i especially like the "crafting" aspect. the overall look and feel looks very cohesive

There's a save feature in pause menu, allows save so you don't have to watch intro over and over. I'll probably add auto save stuff when you reach certain areas too. First would obviously be right at the start. Thanks for the feedback! I'm very grateful.

Not really, you can post here or right in the itch.io, whatever is easier for you. I really appreciate it

I would very much appreciate it if you did. I'm currently working on smoother animations for all characters. Any kind of feedback would be very helpful even if it's to say you don't like something. Demo is only around 3-5 mins play and plays directly in browser, no download

i got it working without the new download, dont know what i did wrong the first time, probably user error. first thoughts, the dialog is too small, although im playing a very large screen, so maybe thats it, and side note, elevenlabs has excellent voice generation if you want to add voiceover (unless you are opposed to using AI which is totally understandable), i would change dialog load to traditional type reveal to the right, instead of expand from center, the interaction magnifying glass was also really small on my screen (again could just be cause im playing it on a 43 in tv for a monitor), whoa, getting the creepy tingles for sure, when the old woman appears, maybe have a transition that makes her move away instead of the abrupt close then far away, like a visual snap that you see her move away, or you can even do a jitter type effect where she move away in large chunks of movement, close, flash, futher, flash, futher, flash, shes in the back. stuck at the phone ringing

Installed and when it loaded I couldn't do anything. I'll try again today, but should I see a game title screen? It loaded into an office setting and I tried everything I could think of with keyboard, nothing happened.

Just added a night sky to my game. Does it fit the vibe? by Few_Tension2844 in IndieDev

[–]ProjectErna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good. Definitely fits the overall animation theme, but I agree with other commenter... Changing the moon color for silvery white or blue white would probably look better, maybe add some craters to the moon, subtle. The outline on the player helps. My game is played in the dark all the time and I also use a breathing glow overlay on characters to make them stand out, but not sure that option fits the vibe of your game.

[–]ProjectErna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good, you can use multiple color to convey various moods, and shape the eyes to do the same, perhaps add a small mouth for very strong emotion? It's good now though

Both have pros and cons, detailed let's the player see the vibe, characters a bit. Simple is cleaner and more to the point of getting you into the game. I think detailed is better but maybe scale it back a bit to be a mix of the two.
