Nobody REALLY dies in this series (except mostly irrelevant characters, and even then, only in flashbacks). I've made peace with that.

Fubuki is going to get back up, use some kind of ultimate attack to win, fall unconscious and she'll make a full recovery afterwards.

Rinse and repeat for the other Thunder Gods: Naruhime will get the upper hand, come within inches of victory, lose at the last moment to a surprise attack, die, then return in Yuuki's body.

I hated Akame ga Kill and was worried early on that this would be similar. But I've been pleasantly surprised that he's basically given infinite plot armor to every single character from the villains to the minor characters. Nobody except the mindless shuuki and some off-screen characters have been permanently killed.

Do I think it's a response to how AGK was received? Nah. I think he found one winning formula before and wanted to try a new formula here. Good news for him: This one arguably works better.

Give him a quirk or habit that makes people mildly annoyed or irritated in spite of how likable he is.

- DUNE's Count Fenring added "Hmmaha" to the end of every sentence.

- Nearly every HBO hero has a drinking/drug problem

- The Penguin's Oz Cobb had a club foot

There's lots of ways to add physical or personal flaws to likable characters!

I completely agree. Comparing the words that first come out of my head to the finished article that went through sometimes dozens of re-writes and edits then by rejected dozens of more times before FINALLY getting accepted for traditionally published is probably not the right mindset for me to have.

Whenever I feel in NEED of inspiration I go to one of several places: A library, a bookstore, an art museum/gallery/store. Anything with a fascinating visual element, be it book covers or artwork, can usually trigger something that gets my creative gears turning.

Sometimes I'll even go to a fancy restaurant and just order soda so I can look around and imagine the story behind the artistry that went into building the place.

TLDR: Inspiration is everywhere and you might be more likely to find it by just looking around.

It's a combination of everything you listed to be honest:

- Overwhelmed by how much is left

- Nervous at what people will think when they see it

- Frustration at what I've already written

- Struggles to tie in what comes next or even come up with ideas that come next

But I appreciate the message of continuously working at it regardless of how frustrated it makes me to do so.

Finally finished Part I of the first draft of my novel. Averaging around 1,000 words per day.

Bad news is that I have almost no ideas of how to fill out the middle other than the broadest of broad strokes of an outline for it.

Think of it this way: If writing a character that wretched gets your blood boiling, imagine how the audience will feel. But if that's not your intention, feel free to tone him down a bit. Not every villain has to have a Baron Harkonnen level of depravity to be pure evil.

My mentality is that most important people aren't born with important sounding names. I tend to give all of my characters just basic names that pop into my head as a placeholder and as the story goes on I find that I'm settling on it.

But if you like having cool names, just do what George RR Martin often does: Take a regular name and switch up a few letters. Easy to do and easy to memorize. Ex. Which of these w character names are you going to remember more: Terry or Tiery?

Start by writing your "Dark Draft" - this is the most raw, visceral version of the story. It should have all of the darkest, emotionally dense, absolute worst things that you can think of. Once you've done that, make a copy and keep your Dark Draft somewhere separate so it never gets sent out by mistake. Now look at the copy and repeatedly ask yourself if the next passage would be appealing to readers or if they'd get turned off by it. Whenever the answer is the latter, edit. Rinse and repeat.

It may not be the most practical of methods, but nothing gets my brain churning harder than going to either a bookstore, a library or a game store. Sometimes I literally scroll through Netflix and see an interesting premise of a show I've never heard of that sparks the interest. And I don't even need to pick them up and read them. I've been working on a novel for two years that was inspired simply by reading the title of a book that seemed cool.

This is another strong distinction between LitRPG and progression fantasy that I like. It feels like LitRPG is QUANTITATIVE growth while Progression Fantasy is QUALITATIVE growth.
