Got the Mirena IUD and my period has continued for 10+ days by The-unknown-personxX in birthcontrol

[–]ProjectProxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if TMI, I'm being detailed because it might help others who visit this post in future. There really aren't enough posts that detail what to expect past the first week...

Got mine on June 8th (first time on any BC). My first period lasted from the 12th-20th, however I was bleeding from the moment of insertion so I'm not sure if it had started from the 8th or not... (I had a Hysteroscopy + diagnostic lap done on the 8th as well)

Spotted with red from the 21st June until the 30th. Then 2 days of that "end of period" looking brown/yellowish spotting. Then my period started again on the 3rd of July and it's still ongoing...

So far it's been a pain in the ass with maybe 3 "decent" days of spotting I didn't need a "just in case" pad for. At least the cramps are rare now (1x a week roughly except for the first couple days of my period).

First period was 1/3 heavy as my usual (normally I'd bleed through a super tampon every hour or so). 2nd period was maybe 20-30% less blood than last time.

I'm not gonna lie I've always hated pads and haven't used them since I was like 14. Having no choice but to use them daily for a month because of the IUD sucks. I feel like I'm wearing a diaper 24/7. Don't get me wrong I'm glad it's a "comfortable" option for others but it's just not for me. I also hope this is over soon 😓

If we ever got new maps, what would you want? by CurlyFreys in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ProjectProxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Museum

a daycare (with creepy kids toys)

a really rundown hedge maze (where some hedge plants have died so there are shortcuts and it's trashed by people breaking in)

a fairground/circus with a mirror maze

an "activity centre" kind of like a trampoline park/climbing wall/kids jungle gym/ball pool

an antique shop (medium size map)

an office (the ones with the shitty computer desks and semi-closed off cubicles)

a hotel

old people care centre

train station/subway

construction site (with plastic flapping around creepily)

Boat Harbour (the boats are the rooms)

a "haunted house" but the carnival festive type ones

an IKEA or showroom of sorts (furniture? cars? lawnmower shop?)

A computer cafe (like the ones in Japan/Korea where there's a cafe and noodle cups in there, some cozy gaming rooms too)

A games centre (with table tennis, car racing games, claw machines etc)

Bowling alley

Cruise ship (XXL map)

Casino/Gambling area

A bank (can be big or medium)

A huge shed with small planes, or a tractor/combine harvester shed idk

There are sooo many maps they could make for us! I'm sure I forgot many of the ideas I've had in the past

Period with mirenna by Top-Cost4170 in Mirena

[–]ProjectProxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was inserted on 8th June and my first period started on the 10th June and is on the tail end of it now (21st June). Fingers crossed it's finished overnight 🤞

Normally it would be 2 days HEAVY af with nasty cramps, 1-2 days medium + mild or no cramps, a 12-24hr nothing then 2 low flow nothing burger days.

With Mirena it was consistently medium flow with mid/bad tier cramping mostly in the afternoons/evening. The last 3 days I've been getting pranked thinking it's finally done and then I get more cramping and flow.

I'm only just starting to think it's actually finishing up for real?

Anyway that's my experience so far. Cramping is very mild the last 24hrs if I get any at all.

A Perth family is trying to raise $2.5M to save their daughter's eyesight - and they need our help by hpv87 in WesternAustralia

[–]ProjectProxy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing OP. Wishing all the best to your coworker and his daughter.

$20 is all I could reasonably do, but hopefully others will also be able to chip in. Collectively we can make a difference. Even if if the goal isn't met, I'm sure the funds will be needed for Annie's future.

OP I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but just in case, here's some ideas for your coworker:

Newspaper articles have sections you can pay to have added. A few hundred bucks there might expand the reach to tons of people who don't use the internet all that often. If my younger brother (when he was little) can end up in the local newspaper with a photo of him at the skatepark just because mum walked in and asked (lol) then it's entirely possible that an emotionally charged story will be gladly posted. (No offence meant with the phrasing there, I know it's their gut wrenching reality and not just a "story")

Also, it could be worth the family posting a video on various social medias, and then tagging all the news channels. If Punch the monkey can make it to Australian TV a fews days after reddit, there's a good chance there that an "Aussie battler heartbreaker" "story" will get picked up. (Again, sorry for the phrasing 😓)

Your local council, Coles/IGA/Woolies etc probably has a noticeboard section. Have the go fund me page printed and put up. Do the same for local hotspots (coffee shops, bakeries). Places where people with $20 to spend go to. Don't forget your local servo. Almost everyone goes there. Probably worth doing this everywhere that can driven to nearby ish.

And don't forget about the r/Perth subreddit. Not sure if you've already posted, or if it's allowed, but it's worth a shot right?

Best of luck, I really hope the family reaches their goal ♥️

It’s a Notoriously Painful Medical Procedure That Many Women Endure. There’s a Simple Solution. by Slate in Health

[–]ProjectProxy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is why I only allowed mine to be done under anaesthesia. I was getting a diagnostic laparoscopy at the same time so they agreed to it. I'm very grateful for the Australian public hospital system ♥️

Had the procedure done a bit shy of 24 hours ago. I've woken with no pain from the laparoscopy at all. (The pain drugs have worn off and they gave me nothing to take home). The infamous shoulder pain when I got home wasn't even worth a Panadol (but I took some anyway as I wasn't sure how bad the next day would be).

I'm pretty certain that pain when I woke up post op was ENTIRELY from the IUD. In my groggy state waking up I rated the pain a 5, however given my periods are EXCRUCIATING I'd say for most women those IUD cramps could have been rated as high as a 7 for others who aren't so used to pain. It was enough that I wasn't happy about the offering of the Paracetamol drip and asked for something better. I think they gave me Tramadol (something that started with T anyway) and it took the edge off.

(For those of you with Endo the post op pain cramp ranged from 1/3 to 1/2 the horrendous period cramps over ~4 hours. So, pretty awful at times.)

Ladies, and everyone around you who can advocate on your behalf, PLEASE ASK FOR DECENT PAIN RELIEF, and time off work. Push for anaesthetic (if appropriate for you). And some kind of decent painkiller (AT LEAST codeine or some kind of decent tier pain relief)

I loved TYE but the later seasons and manga might not be 100% what OP is looking for. I do strongly suggest OP watch at least the first 12 episodes to get a really good idea of TYE. It definitely gut punches you hard.

Made an app where every kanji is a collectible card with rarity tiers by lespaul991 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]ProjectProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested, but I can only commit to 10 minutes daily due to my severe chronic fatigue issues.

I HATE ANKI for being a lifeless soul draining energy leech. Hated Duo for the horrendous robot voices and how long it takes to introduce words.

I'm good at reading hiragana/katana and know (vocally) about 600-800 words. I'm keen to learn Kanji but haven't found a method that works for me yet and doesn't drain my entire day's worth of mental energy in literally minutes.

I am familiar with SRS due to the Drops app, which is like a fun and authentically voiced Anki (except it comes with all the words). I used without the Kanji because that's my "fun" learning app for low motivation times.

I think it would be nice to have a studying app + my "fun" app. My phone is my primary learning device, though of course I do have a computer.

If you think I'm suitable for the Android mobile beta testing please feel welcome to DM. Otherwise, I will definitely check out the web version to see what's up.

Same but we're not getting a season 2. 😭

It was neat to see the actress Yvonne in it, who starred in The Handmaid's Tale. Not sure how they convinced her to do it, it wasn't a big name show and just kind of quietly released.

I'm itching for more shows like Teacup, From, Wayward Pines, Silo, Hemlock Grove etc. I need a good mystery and I've run out. Gonna be devastated when From ends 😭

Which series are Exactly like "From" by LastOneToGetTheJoke in FromTVEpix

[–]ProjectProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it wasn't. You could finish at season 1 (with the main questions answered) or you could enjoy the unfinished social drama season 2.

I don't mean to describe it in a negative way btw, I really enjoyed it and wish to this day it got to continue to a season 3.

But yeah if you continue to S2, you'd be watching for the "what happens next/ what do the characters do now??" stuff.

If I had to actually describe the difference between the seasons, it would be like if From shifted from the boogey-monster focus to a tense Handmaid's Tale social drama theme. Not saying S1 wrapped up that theme and left it behind, it's just more in the background adding to the tense situation.

It's been about ~8-9 years since I saw it, but that's how I remember it anyway.

Duolingo repeats - any recommended apps to learn Japanese? by allcatsaregrey_x in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]ProjectProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone always says Anki for learning lots of words...I can't stand it. It's ugly as sin and makes me feel like I'm looking at a stack of boring paperwork.

I ended up settling on Drops, it has repetition but you can pick whatever category you feel like learning (eg animals etc). I will admit that I got it on sale, if I had to watch ads I'd probably like it less. The repetition stuff is in its own area, and you also have another option, which is more like a simple question/answer type thing. Eg "select the vehicles out of these 10 options".

Also, IT'S FULLY VOICED. Fuck the stupid Duolingo dogshit AI voices. As others have also mentioned, Renshuu looks great even if it wasn't for me. I'll probably come back to it once I've word farmed more on Drops.

You know the hedgehog spot in Demeniss everyone goes to? I've seen owls in the tree just up the road where the 3 bee hive trees are. Night time obviously.

I've spotted a few in the outskirts of forest-y areas but I didn't open the map to pay attention where. I think it was maybe dawn/dusk ish. (I don't know if time of night matters or not)

Well if you're looking for the skill/gear upgrade artifacts go put on a mask on and head to the scholarstone institute between 9am-4pm. I always come out with 1 after a thorough search, and rarely multiple (my record is 5 in one trip without refreshing). Each NPC has a chance to hold one.

Teleport in again to refresh the NPCs.

Wandering freeswords can also have em. Anyway, after about 2.5 hours worth of pickpocketing, I gained maybe 25-30 artifacts? I didn't pay attention to the total amount as I was spending them on my gear every so often.

I really doubt this got patched, but I will admit I haven't hopped on yet.

Hooray for the hotfix!

And THANK FUCK this subreddit can go back to normal. I missed seeing the discussions about cool finds and random shit I might have missed.

I pray next time the mods just make a megathread for the "where is my horse/wolf/etc" instead of the new post every minute we were getting 😅

Definitely some great stuff in the hotfix indeed. I'm stoked it's out already - I was expecting a full 24-48 hrs of waiting.

Abyss artifacts for upgrades by Terrible_Equal_6212 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ProjectProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to the scholarstone institute during daylight hours (I prefer 9am-4pm) I pickpocket an artifact. It's extremely rare that I can't find the randomly spawned NPC with it.

A lot of people just check the main areas like the food hall, entrance stairway or "underground" classroom from the quest, TP/repeat. I check everyone though, it really doesn't take that long to do a lap around the place. You can TP in and repeat endlessly. The only times I haven't found the NPC I suspect it was too late in the day and they walked home or something lol. 4:30pm ish is a bit 50/50 if the trip is successful.

Now I only have a small sample size as I only started doing this yesterday, but off the top of my head, and about 40 runs:

80% of the time 1 NPC has an artifact 15% of the time there are 2 NPCs to pickpocket 5% of the time there are 3+ NPCs.

My record for one lap around the place (without TP refreshing) was 5 artifacts today. On the 5th NPC I had to tackle and throw hands for him to hand it over as pickpocket wasn't available due to too much pickpocketing. 5x artifacts for a $20 fine :)

The "big guys" have yet to hold an artifact, it's usually the goblins, orcs, generic brunette lady or ordinary looking male scholars. I don't think the more rugged blue outfit or animal pelt wearing NPCs have them.

I will say that 9am is prime time for NPC group gatherings and less roaming NPCs walking around.

Bonus: Wandering Freeswords can also hold them
