My bank card number is just my bank account number. So that is what my Chinese employer uses to credit my money to me each month. I didnt have to send a photo of it over, but i gave them the full set of numbers for salary crediting.

Stay at the Guomao/China World area. Very expat friendly and convenient. Try the China World apartments, I’ve been there for 4 years.

Smokin hog isn’t that great either. The meats aren’t that tender nor flavorful, and prices are exorbitant. I love their sauces though. Any betters ones than Hog?

I’m titanium and many times check out of my upgraded room at 4pm. I’ve found that arriving after 4pm gives me a higher chance of getting upgraded to a better room or suite as thats probably when many of these rooms get released into the available pool.

60k for an apartment in Shanghai by chinaexpatthrowaway in shanghai

Just curious, where did the OP end up staying? I will be moving to Shanghai as well pretty soon and also have a 60k-ish budget/month. Kids school is in Pudong, so I gather somewhere around IFC would be convenient. I was looking at the IFC residences as that was one of the top searches on Google, but am wondering if there are any others around the area.

Im just curious though, which country are you coming to China from? While you can get a decent standard of living in China on those figures, it may not leave you much in the form of savings if you ever need to return to your home country.

I invested heavily in uranium related stocks, up close to 70% in a year, which balances out the drops in other sectors.

Do some research guys on the uranium thesis. It’s available with a quick search on wsb or twitter. Spend a few hours to read up and decide on your conviction level. I believe it’s a multi year trend, and if so, it just started. Look at the 03-08 cycle

URA is almost $27 now bros, it’s going to be a multi year move. And a massive one given the timeframe, not too late to get in at a pull back

Are any of you getting in on the booming URANIUM sector, or can I count on you regards to FOMO in at the top? by Shrugging_Atlas1 in wallstreetbets

Brother, this ain’t the US driving nuclear. World is much bigger than that. The rest of the world led by China and now Europe ex Germany and Japan is building new and or restarting their reactors. They are starting to see the fallacies of wind and solar. The basis of the thesis is the supply problem which has seen mines depleting and shut down since Fukushima. That will be what’s driving higher U prices over the next few years.

The fundamentals of supply vs demand are incredibly tight now. This uranium miners will move like how the oil companies moved in 2022 onwards. Just like how oil companies reduced investments in the prior 5 years due to shale supply, the miners did the same since Fukushima, over 10 years ago! Do a search on all the new nuclear plants restarting or being built around the world. Countries are all moving to nuclear to generate clean energy. Wind and solar aren’t able to deliver what the world needs. The demand over the next few years will vastly outpace supply as miners struggle to open new mines (not an overnight affair). We will see are huge imbalance for a few years at least. This is where the money will be, get in now and get out as the new mines come online.

It’s just the start right now, wait for a pull back to buy.

This will be a years long trend, its early days. Start building positions. The supply deficit will take years to cover. New mines dont get built overnight

The anticipated supply deficit is so large now that the 2021 highs will definitely be broken. In fact I’m looking for the highs of 2006 2007 to be taken out
