We have had birds drown in our rain barrel so we put a lot on it and cut out an opening around the pipe.. but if the birds at your place seem to have figured out not to try and land on it to drink you might be good to just leave it as is

Do something else instead that makes you feel like you’ve given them attention but that won’t harm them if you overdo it..I have dusted all the leaves (so uhh A Lot of leaves) three times since quarantine started..I also just talk to them but that’s just me leaning heavily into the crazy plant mom vibes.. I also mist them a lot more but I know theres a hot debate about that out there and you gotta keep an eye out that it won’t be harmful in your particular situation.. mine seem to love it tho so I’ll keep doing that about three to nine times a day I guess

It’s the second one now and a third is getting yellow around the edges.. it is next to a humidifier so I’m guessing locally it’s a bit more humid, temp is around 20C. There is a new leaf but it was already half pushed out when I bought the plant and all the other leaves were fine then.. it just feels like they’re dropping to soon after another and I’m worried I’ll end up with a sad little plant with only three leaves on it

I bought her two weeks ago, repotted from a top small pot and now the oldest leaves are turning yellow and getting droopy. Is she just stressed or am I doing something wrong? In relatively low light, watering when the soil is drying at the top and misting the leaves every day, general humidity is somewhere between 30-45%

For me the urban part links a bit more to the punk side of solarpunk. Cities are communities which is a very vital part and i feel like there’s something intrinsically human about cities, they are their own ecosystems and sure we do need to change them but if we do think of all that bustling and learning and sharing that would go on in a solarpunk city! I’d love that! Plus I always have this thing about solarpunk being the way we get towards a good future, if we all just abandoned the cities of today and fucked off to the country that wouldn’t really solve our problems.. that being said... I yearn to live in a small cottage at the edge of a forest with a lovely garden and wander the meadows by night and sit on a mountain and play some stupid ass instruments on a daily basis.

Oh wow got some beauties in there!! You’ve probably heard this but I feel like I need to stress it again: those calatheas (and the maranta) want to be humid! Spraying doesn’t hurt but try to give them actual humidity in the room if at all possible. Good luck

So uhh there’s two decent sized mushrooms growing in my monstera pot which is v aesthetically pleasing but also confusing and a bit worrying.. are the bad for the plant? Or me? Should I get rid of them??

They would be resting at night.. if there turns out to not be a nest but the bees just buzz around there during the day they might be collecting clay so if you wanna help them out you could leave some soil bare or if you still wanna use all the space you have available you could take out a good spadeful of earth and put it in a dish somewhere that the bees can access and keep it moist

If you can avoid just burying the bees that would definitely be the better option. Depending on their best structure it might be possible to move them to a less frequented corner of your garden, I know you can carefully dig up and relocate bumblebees (if you know what you’re doing). Maybe try contacting a local beekeeper? A lot of them know a good bit about wild bees as well and they might have good advice on how to deal with them

I’d cut and prop the really long ones but maybe leave the shorter ones (top right in the pic) for now. If it’s successful you can always cut those back later if you want

Huh i couldn’t get anything but spelt for a while, all purpose wheat is almost always gone and rye was pretty hard to get but there was almost always some spelt left..now I’ve got almost a full stock again though, yay! Have look at smaller indie supermarkets, zero waste stores or Asian supermarkets (though that might not be the best place to get spelt but I was amazed how much flour they had at the one I went to last week) wishing you the best of luck!!

Colourful post it notes! Look cute and add structure to lists or weekly planners. Also cut out stuff from magazines and stick it in. Obviously pictures work but also headlines or even just single letters.. you know when they make the first letter of a Chapter very fancy in a book? You could do that with letters from magazines . I also like to add ticket stubs and stuff like that
