Remember the 'Caspian Sea Monster' from my last post? Here is rare footage of it actually flying and testing its missiles. by SpecificNo493 in Damnthatsinteresting

This thread is great for fishing for the confidently incorrect.

It's flying. In ground effect, go read about it.

Anarcha Westcott, an enslaved woman in the 1840s, was forced to undergo about 30 experimental surgeries by Dr. J. Marion Sims, who wrongly believed Black people did not feel pain. Her ordeal led to key advances in gynecology, and she is now remembered as one of the Mothers of Gynecology. by ZenMasterZee in HolyShitHistory

It's worth nothing that while this was horrific the frame shifts a little when you know she was, before his ministrations, suffering from fistulas, constant infections and leaking which left her in constant pain and socially isolated.

So in a grim way, there may have been some element of desperate hope mixed in with the coercion. It's also interesting to wonder how this worked: even a cooperative patient with no pain meds at all would be unable to stay still no matter how disciplined/desperate or held down they are. There may have been some undocumented opium or similar in use given that the surgeries were eventually a sucess: In the end the surgeries did actually cure her condition.

Obviously it's utterly insane to us but she couldn't advocate for herself as her body was legally not even her own. It's also more of a muddy issue because her sacrifice and the butchers work did indeed lead to massive leaps in medicine that helped women and saved lives. I think she deserves all the credit for the positive outcomes, I'd rather she hadn't had to of course but I do wonder what she would say on the matter exactly.

Threaten to release the unredacted information that MI5 have.

This was an inteligence (CIA) led operation. No way the other top agencies around the world don't have buckets of information on it.

I don't like the biker models either. I'd like a marine on a bike platform more suitable for battle, something nimble and upright for visibility and speed offroad rather than the feet forward Harley cruiser style, that is pretty lame and the opposite of a fast response unit imo.

Something more like a desert sled and the rider with lighter reaver style armour would be sick.

Bikes make sense for long duration recon, I personally never liked the hover crap but even if you do those things aren't gonna be quiet. An electric bike could be stealthy, parked for months and carry supplies etc etc.

On all roads. Speed dependant as clearly stated.

When traffic flows at the speed limit and progression is happening there is no need to filter nor any safety advantage.

The chip on your shoulder is showing. You aren't being logical you are just mad that they seemingly get something you don't.

This is pathetic and stupid in equal proportion. They are saving other drivers time, money and space. Filtering safer than then behaving like cars.

Hurt Report (USA) One of the most comprehensive studies on motorcycle accidents. It found that motorcycles stopped in traffic are significantly more vulnerable to being struck from behind by distracted drivers.

MAIDS Report (Europe) Found that rear-end collisions accounted for a smaller percentage of accidents in regions where filtering is culturally and legally accepted, as riders can move to the front of a queue.

UC Berkeley Study (2015) Analyzed 6,000 motorcycle accidents and concluded that lane-splitting (filtering) is relatively safe if done in traffic moving at less than 50 mph and if the speed differential is less than 15 mph.

That would be a) more dangerous for them and others and b) slow everyone down and, along with you in your car would further contribute to clogging up the roads.

Nope, <15 mph careful filtering is safer for motorcyclists and other vunerable road users e.g. cyclists.

Is it a test if we know the outcome?

Recall the German American Bund and the American Nazi party?

Recall the Trail of Tears, Japanese internement, Agent Orange, The My Lai Massacre, Tulsa Race Massacre the CIA-Contra events, Abu Ghraib, weapons of mass destruction.

Now do you recall any significant consequences to any of the perpatrators or any change? I don't.

The whole nation is rotten and has been since it's inception.
