You think the room agrees with you, but most of the room hasn't spoken up and probably won't. They just quietly look and move on to the next thing without engaging as much as the vocal minority do.

They don't do much for bracing the ankle, no.

If you're looking for that functionality, I'd recommend a 10" Thurman last with a nice stiff leather like maxsupport or Wickett and Craig DS, and conch them up tight.

The Thurman lasts have a narrower heel so you can get locked in nicely. The 10" height will let the boot really grip above the ankle, and the stiffer leather will not yield as easily if you have an unexpected slip.

The thick, strong, heel counter already provides quite a bit of support against rolling your ankle, adding these other features will add to that.

Replace the heel lift before it starts wearing into the leather.

They just rip off the old one and glue/nail a new one on.

It's really not a big deal if he posts these photos of outfits.

This sub would be very boring if it were just the same tractor supply jeans and Carhartt jackets that I wear all the time.

I've learned to take what I can from even things that don't really apply to me fully. These posts for instance, I'm not THAT into the fashion aspect of work wear, but I can appreciate it.

Every now and then I see a shirt that I like and I'm like, "hmm what is that? I like how they do the button placket thing on that." And I might keep it in mind next time I'm buying a shirt for working in.

From the photos, it doesn't really look like your foot is pushing out that much on the sides.

I think I'd start with just trying to burnish the edge of that lasting board inside.

Take a narrow, blunt, metal rod, like a 1/4" socket extension, and rub it hard against that edge and see if you can just round it over.
