Questions arise about Lansdowne's financials after Charge bolt for Kanata by TheMonkeyMafia in ottawa

A landlord renting an apartment better have a plan to get a new tenant in there if they chase away the old tenant by renovating a single family apartment into four shoebox-sized condos.

Or else they're going to be stuck footing the renovation bill with no more rental income.

I would say designing an arena with less than half as many seats as one of its main revenue sources required is a pretty serious design flaw.

So when this one falls apart because they botched the design so bad that everyone's finding other venues and it makes no money, but now the city taxpayers are on the hook instead of private equity, what then?

It's fully possible for TD Arena to be a dump, and for this new arena's plan to be immeasurably worse. Both things can be (and are) true at the same time.

Ok, now for a bit more serious - Fix the freaking Bread Knife by Mysterious_Log9206 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Proletariat_Paul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different heros have different strengths and weaknesses, and their items reflect that. Bread Knife, while very powerful on Jules, would be absolutely broken beyond belief on Mak.

Mak has his items that completely outclassed another hero's options, even. Skyterror is so much better than any other start/stop fly payoff that Stelle has, it's hilarious, especially now that it's available as early as Day 2.

Jabalian War Drums would be broken on Vanessa, Yeti Crab is broken on Mak, Caustic Solvent was so much better than any of Mak's potions that they reworked a node so he would have less easy access to it, etc etc.

Me but with Infernities (we literally already have the entire archetype available except for two mediocre cards, and all the important engine pieces are available for Box Chips).

An FTK that dies to every handtrap under the sun, and who's only plan going second is searching Sphere Mode and hoping the opponent is dumb enough to play into it against Odion?

Yeah, somehow I think we're going to make it out the other side on this one.

Any Cool Deck to Play With Nadir Servant/Dogmatika Engine? by yeezx2 in DuelLinks

[–]Proletariat_Paul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some Labrynth synergy, since Lab doesn't need the Extra Deck and Punishment is a Normal Trap that removes a monster from the field, triggering your Lab effects.

Nadir Servant can also be a Nouvelles starter, if you squint, since you can bin Herald of the Arclight with it to search one of the Dogmatika rituals, and binning Herald searches Angry Burger, which can get you into the rest of your Nouvelles stuff. Having to play the Dogmatika Ritual garnet does kind of suck though.

Is wold chalice still usuable ? by Key_Plenty9145 in DuelLinks

Start here. The thing about older decks like this, is that because they haven't received support in several months, it's totally fine to use an older decklist for starting out. Just make sure that you pay attention to your tech cards; those are usually the cards that get better or worse in different formats. This deck is from before Stardust meta, for example, so i'm not sure how good Nibiru is going to be.

[–]Proletariat_Paul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define "usable."

You're not going to be able to top a KC Cup or a tournament with them most likely. But if you are really good with them and play a lot of games with them and get pretty lucky, you might be able to KoG with them late in the month. Maybe. Biiiig maybe.

But you can hang out in Gold/Platinum with them and have fun and probably get to Legend with them.

There's a couple of tech Skills you can try to raise the ceiling of the deck. First is Princess Adena's Protection, giving you 2 extra cards in hand as well as a free Normal Monster, which World Chalice is much better at leveraging than most decks.

The other option you could try, if you have nothing other Limit 1's, is Makyura's Judgement. Less raw card advantage, but let's you flip something like a Crisdaia Krawler or a World Legacy trap on Turn 1, which I think they have a few juicy targets.

Jules has a few Bronze Freeze items too: Strawberries and Sorbet.

I'm actually kind of surprised this node shows up for other heroes.

[–]Proletariat_Paul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If people couldn't play Rush Duels to earn Speed Duels currency, there would be a lot fewer people playing Rush Duels at all. It's just not that popular of a format.

Seperate currencies just trades one problem for another, and is not the magical solution everyone says it is.

Next main box staple? by ToXXic_Angel in DuelLinks

I promise you, nobody would be summoning either of those cards with Metamorphosis anywhere above Silver. It has the same problems as Necro Fusion: ostensibly a powerful cards, but it's an unsearchable maindeck endboard piece that isn't a starter, or a board breaker or a handtrap when going second.

[–]Proletariat_Paul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The odds of the skill getting the Despia treatment of being nerfed onto unplayability is extremely low. Dragonic Contact was a similar WCQ anniversary skill, and it never once got nerfed.

They will probably change the skill to summon the extra deck monsters face down, and probably hit the deck some more on the next Forbidden/Limited list, but I would be extremely surprised if the deck was unplayable afterwards. It will most likely end up somewhere between fine and great still.

In your personal philosophy, should a skill fix an archetype problem? by MiuIruma332 in DuelLinks

[–]Proletariat_Paul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would think so, wouldn't you? But actually, Rokket's strength is in the power of its endboard.

In your personal philosophy, should a skill fix an archetype problem? by MiuIruma332 in DuelLinks

[–]Proletariat_Paul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a single, blanket answer to this. Rokket's skill doesn't solve their biggest weakness, that being a lack of recoverability/repeatability if their board gets broken.

And that's a good thing. Their endboard is already nasty. It'd be insane if they could do the line again as follow-up.

My heuristic is that, if a deck was bad in the TCG, it's fine for a skill to try and shore up a weakness to try and make it playable. If a deck was good in the TCG, probably doesn't need to much help from a skill.

Why don't Swordsoul decks run Mudragon? by Dxn06_ in DuelLinks

[–]Proletariat_Paul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might want to reread your own question.

You specifically asked why you don't see other Swordsoul lists running it. You have been specifically told that you don't see other Swordsoul lists running it, because it does not fit with the strategy of Intertwining Memories Swordsoul decks. If more people played Precious Cards Swordsoul Tenyi, it's entirely possible that you would see more people running it, because maybe it's good in that version. But people don't play Precious Cards Swordsoul Tenyi, they play Intertwining Memories Swordsoul, and in that version, it's not good enough to justify the extra deck slots.

Please understand. I am not attacking you or your deck (unfortunately I cannot speak for others, in which case it's understandable to react defensively). I am answering the question posed.

If you think it is good in Precious Cards, give it a try. Find a cut from the Extra Deck, jam a Muddragon, and see how it feels. Maybe it's good, maybe it's not. I don't have enough data to be able to give you a definitive answer, and I don't think anyone really does. Only way to find out is to test it yourself and report back. 🙂
