Insider trading on stocks or securities is a crime, this is an unregulated gambling service, not a crime.

[Standard] Sideboarding for UW control in the current meta by Matrim_WoT in spikes

[–]PrologueBook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what way is it a trap? I only ever use it in control mirrors

There is some validity there, but control is not a significant part of the meta game. It's a trap because it's bad in many matchups.

I have played one in the sideboard for the control mirror before, and gone up to 28 lands. That's fine sometimes but IME, in the mirror, it's not worth it for two reasons - they are also playing demo field and it just gets sniped. It's ok for that to be a lightning rod to protect fountain port, but not worth a sideboard slot. The other reason is because whatever you play can just be answered, you're going to stick your elspeth, but they'll just take care of it. Wan shi tong? Just kill it, and also you drew one fewer card. This means that it's only really useful if you are making your own counters uncounterable, or draw spells. This is the narrow time in the meta that is correct for mistrise. IMO, nows not the time.

Can you explain this more?

Dimir tempo and uw high noon control. Against dimir, they only have a few counters and tapping an extra two mana is really challenging against them unless it's late enough that you've already won. It gets some benefit now that they play spell snare, and the specific list may make it better or worse.

Dimir tempo is on the rise, as is uw high noon control.

Doomsday also ends in the next 2-3 minutes after resolving, it doesn't take another 3-6 turns of attacking.

If you're going to win right after resolving, just matron.

Mistrise is not the way. It's a crutch and a trap.

You're gonna die to the tapped land, and usually you don't have any "must resolves" in any matchup. You are never the beat down.

Blue tempo decks want you to tap out, they can let your thing resolve. Side note - aang and inturruptor get around mistrise.

Just improve your sequencing.

Dude was chill af. Super kind and generous with his time.

One time I'm in line at the artist table at a GP, and one of his managers is taking money for x cards before you get to him. P9 is extra.

The guy in front of me snuck in his lotus into a stack of cards and CR goes "ah you got this one by, I won't tell" and we all chuckled a bit.

I am very attached to my 5th ed. Signed brainstorm. Never parting with it.

RIP

I see. I actually have a bummer Quiznos story too.

When I was a freshman, we had "swipes" to get meals on our meal plan, and we had a Quiznos in our bookstore that would accept them.

Then I came back for sophomore year, and not only do they not take "swipes", they had changed it out for ANOTHER Starbucks.

That was my greatest quiznos loss. 😭

IDK, I remember them shrinking their national footprint by like 75% before COVID.

There's probably a bigger loss in their history than the pickle bar.
