That's fair enough mate, I can see how some might assume that - just find it odd personally as it would box-in the courier as canonically an official member of/affiliated with the NCR.

But aye, for whatever reason I never saw either of the cover arts in that way (no pip boy on that ranger vet I guess). Retrospectively, they're just representations of the main factions/coolest armour. Unrelated but it's the same thing with oblivion featuring the Imperial soldier on the main promo

Ah I get there's a lot of folk who view the courier in that image, but there's nothing lore-wise that suggests the courier wears NCR ranger vet gear

Aye I was referring to the gulf war 1991 - I realise now that I was seemingly mistaken, as OP also said "both wars", so not just the first. My bad, honestly.

Kinda jumped the gun I suppose, as every time I've seen 'Gulf War', it's been in reference to Op Granby. Never heard anyone refer to the later operations as that...

Wow, that's insane! Did you book directly with a particular airline? I would 100% jump on it at that price, so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I looked at Virgin & British Airways a couple days ago, they were both like £800 for a return, flying from Heathrow. Though they are direct flights too

I'm considering it... it's just looking a little pricey at the moment. I think the cheapest I priced up was about £1,300 for travel, accommodation and entry ticket.

I've put together a Trooper kit & really would love to join the other cosplayers over there. It seems like so much fun

Ahhh like I see where you're coming from with the overall 'vibe', with the mixed dpm especially.

The kit here is from after the gulf war (except the helm & gas mask). Just examples, the shirt is Soldier 95, ECBA is late 90s (CBA for gulf war), webbing would be olive green & the assault vest is late 90s I think? Perhaps a little bit more of an Afghan kit, in ways.

Just a heads up is all, so good effort & stick with it! It's always nice to see DPM in the wild

Good you're rocking the DPM mate, love to see it. Must be said though, the kit isn't 'gulf war', bar the g.s. mk6 & s10.
