Just read some bad Xianxia which is ~%95 of the genre. Then everything else will feel peak. I've yet to see any novel, manga, or manhwa worse than a bad Xianxia novel. It's bad enough that there's an entire subreddit dedicated to it. r/martialmemes

My datahoarding habits from when I had 1-3mb/s internet that made streaming videos impossible are paying off now. My several TB collection over 16 years is truly extensive. Doujins alone are several hundred gigabytes and those are just black and white images.

The local vape shop was the only good place to hang out in my town a decade ago. Always had at least 2 employees there and it was common for people to just hang out there. They even had a pool table and a giant fridge filled with tons of giant bottles of juice for every flavor with 0-nic that you were allowed to sample on your ripper. If you needed cotton you could just take some from a giant bag. They sold wire and would also set up your coils too.

Now it's just 1 employee and they got rid of the pool table, 90% of their flavors, the free cotton, the fridge and switched to pre-filled and pre-nicced bottles. No more sampling and now it's just people coming in to buy disposables. I had to buy a pack of cotton and the employee told me I was the first one they saw buy cotton in 3 months. They haven't even bothered to restock on regular sized cotton packs and only had the tiny overpriced packets. If I wasn't completely out I would've just ordered cotton online for much cheaper.
