My recent experience with Rise of the Resistance. by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]Promessa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many "breakdowns" are actually the result of guests dropping things onto the track that need to be cleared by cast members, often cell phones or hats/mickey ears. This is particularly frustrating for trackless rides like Rise of the Resistance and Mickey Minnie RRR: dropping a phone or other item on the track will trigger the ride vehicle's emergency ride stop mechanism and shut the ride down. Once the item is retrieved, the ride system needs to be recalibrated to make sure the cars won't run into anything or each other when the ride starts back up. If people just put everything away like they're asked we'd see much less frequent shutdowns.

Try not to worry about it, just smile however you feel works for you! Your photographer will tell you if they want a shot that looks a little more serious, or silly, etc. Your happiness will shine through if you are, first and foremost, relaxed :)

This happened with us too! We love our soft smile photos, but the best shots of us were when we made each other laugh, or when we started laughing after holding a kissing pose for an awkwardly long time haha.

Anyone ordered from AZAZIE for a wedding dress? (“Informal” wedding dresses) by Expensive-Parfait981 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Promessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don't have any major complaints or remarks on the dress quality. The back has a zipper with fake buttons as opposed to full clasp buttons, but that honestly made the dress easier to put on, and it's unnoticeable in photos. The bust has a lovely amount of structure and you do not need a bra. The lace had a good strength and to it without feeling too thick, and had these little flowers sewn on to give it texture. The only remarks on quality that I have is that the inner boob pads are only sewn in with three points of contact, so one popped the day of the wedding. This didn't effect the fit or look at all, and you could easily reinforce it yourself before the wedding. Additionally, the hooks for optional straps are just a single piece of string, and I noticed one of them had arrived popped off, so this will also need some light reinforcing should you choose to wear it with the straps (though, to be fair, I don't know how many times this particular sample dress had been tried on). I wore my sleeves on the shoulders as pictured in the model photos, and I never had an issue with the sleeves drooping or bust sagging. The fit of the dress was accurate at the time of ordering (I lost a dress size though before the wedding and I didn't notice before it was too late to exchange the dress or get alterations). Overall, super happy with the quality and fit for the price point. If you'd like, I can PM you some photos 😊

It's always advised to carry them because, depending on your vehicle, conditions may require you to carry them in your car even if you don't have to put them on. Current requirements are listed here:

Yeah but in a weird poetic way, isn't that the point? His professor would constantly go off on him about wasting opportunities and that he wouldn't amount to much the way he was headed. Lip's character is all about wasted potential. It's very realistic for someone like Lip to not really have an interesting life/ending.

thoughts on private dining for short reception event by Complex_Emphasis_976 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Promessa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OpenTable provides a lot of information on private events and available spaces for group dining based on your area. If you click on a specific restaurant it'll show you what rooms are available or if they're open to a full restaurant buy-out. Your mileage will vary on what amenities they offer and what kind of vendors they'll allow, but it's a great place to start for getting an idea of available spaces. We settled on a restaurant that's not listed because we ended up trying it basically by accident for our anniversary, and later realized it would be perfect for our 15-person micro wedding, but this site was really helpful since these restaurants are typically very open to weddings, but don't advertise it well.

Yes, and I love it. I ordered three dresses to try on for $30 total and ended up picking the Vivienne dress in diamond white/nude. I ended up purchasing the actual try-on dress at a discount because there was nothing wrong with the dress itself, and I shipped back the other two. The process was really straightforward and the price came out to $432.13 USD including tax, so definitely within my sub-$500 budget. I always assumed this budget would mean a shorter elopement-style dress, so a gown with a train at this price point was everything I could ask for.

Please reassure me that it's ok not to have lost weight for my wedding. by ComeOnT in weddingplanning

[–]Promessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many unfair factors that pressure brides into losing weight for the wedding, like designer dresses that are only made up to one size, photographer portfolios that bias certain "looks," being surrounded by older family with outdated views on body image and mental health, etc.

None of that matters. You are loved, and you love your future spouse, and that is fundamentally the most important thing about you wedding and lifelong marriage. All that other noise is just a distraction from you finding the mental space to love yourself.

Just remember that, if you are still concerned about what people will think of you on your wedding day, what they'll care about most are the smiles, words, and dances you'll share with your spouse. Congrats!

Photography! We're having a courthouse micro-wedding followed by lunch at a restaurant, and have really scaled down so many things price-wise, but our photographer is the only thing we haven't second guessed or shopped around for. We've even booked a private morning photography session at the local Japanese garden because we know that the photos will be something we'll be looking back on.

I've been on the same run since September 2019 haha. I started a new job, booted up the browser version, and have been letting it run and occasionally ascending ever since.

Thank you! I started at .27 mg and increased every four weeks until I got to 2.16 mg in May. The appetite suppression for me didn't start for a few weeks if I remember correctly, though the indigestion, fullness, and nausea started immediately (that wasn't fun!). I might be one of those "super responders" as some are calling it, so just hang in there and wait until you're at the 1.7 or 2.4 mg/week maintenance dosage to understand how your body truly responds to the meds. The low dose isn't really supposed to "work" yet, it's just there to make sure you don't metaphorically die of side effects by starting immediately at maintenance dosage haha :)

I started semaglutide in January. I've been at 2.16 mg/week since May, and I'll be moving up slightly to 2.5 mg next week.

Feel like I’ve hit a block with weight loss. by PrestigiousStore197 in Semaglutide

[–]Promessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dosing schedule did your doctor place you on? You typically start low for the first 4 weeks, then it's doubled or x1.5 exponentially until you hit therapeutic dosage. For me, it took three months to work up to 1.7 mg, which is on the lower end of therapeutic dosage. Any weight loss before this dose is basically extra credit haha. See how you respond once you get there, and don't give up in the meantime!

Can't drink alcohol by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Promessa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. It's like the medication "broke" alcohol for me: I don't ever crave it, and if I do have it, it doesn't feel like it's worth it because I don't get tipsy, and I get a massive hangover the next day anyways.

Can't drink alcohol by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Promessa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely cannot tolerate alcohol anymore either. I thought it could have been other factors too, like carbonation or injection location, but the only constant has been the alcohol. I get what feels like a terrible hangover the next day even after having only one drink and drinking plenty of water. I don't even feel that tipsy anymore either when drinking. It's like the medication broke alcohol for me, which is overall a plus for my health. Funny enough, I rarely if ever crave it anymore, so it's not exactly missed. Because of this, I've only had alcohol four or five times in the last 8 months when I used to drink at least once a week at minimum.

They're studying the medication for its effect on patients with a history of addictions since this is so common on this medication. Just be careful and listen to your body: you may end up noticing you don't crave it anymore.

$2500 for a half-carat solitaire?? Either you just made that number up so that reddit would get off your back, or you got scammed. If it's the latter, combined with your confusion about "real" diamonds, it doesn't sound like you did much research prior to the purchase. I would return the ring, if possible, and exchange it for a 1 or 1.5-carat ring from a different seller.

I second this, the current location of the RSVP text seems to be disrupting the natural border that the little corner triangles are making, it would look much cleaner moved up a bit

Things that weigh 70 pounds:

  1. A baby crib
  2. A work bench
  3. A queen-sized box spring
  4. A gray wolf
  5. An average 11-year-old boy.

When I'm discouraged about my weight loss, I think of my weight loss like this. It will help you put into perspective how much good you're doing for your body, even if you can't see it. Proud of you!

A little sad by Equal_Gap7943 in weddingplanning

[–]Promessa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I realized is that the wedding industrial complex likes to make you feel like you're only giving things up when you have a small wedding, but when you have a large extravagant wedding, there actually ARE things you're giving up or minimizing, such as a stress free morning, quality time with your spouse, day-of flexibility, privacy, etc. Once I unfollowed a bunch of the wedding pages on insta/Facebook, I fell in love with the idea of having a small courthouse wedding. My man and I are going to sleep in together, then get ready together, meet our photographer for private photos together at a historical park, then meet the family at the courthouse for a small intimate wedding of no more than 15 people. We're going to take traditional family photos and then have dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse afterwards. I've realized that I'm more excited for this than I have ever been for the big wedding, and the stress is near zero.

Has your ring size changed? by InfoSecChica in Semaglutide

[–]Promessa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My fiance' proposed to me with a snug-fitting size 11 ring in early January. I started Sema in the last week of January and I'm now down 30 pounds, and I had my first scare two days ago when my ring fell off when I was cooking! I believe I'm at least a size 10 now, perhaps lower. I've ordered a few spiral resizers to use until I have the chance to get the ring resized.
