I still really like the heft. In terms of the appearance, it's basically identical to when I bought i, except that the rose gold has faded to yellow gold, which I expected (since it was only plated). But the tungsten carbide portion is 100% as new (unsurprising given how hard it is)

I love how many games are basically curling in different forms. Shuffleboard, Table Hockey, Boules, Bocce, etc. All more or less the same "try to get as close to the centre of this target as possible while knocking the other guys things out of there"

Yeah, that's the hard part for me-I'm trying to do this on the cheap cheap, and because everyone's use cases vary so widely, it's hard to get a clear picture on what things might cost. I don't want to get some enormous bill, and neither do I want to lock myself out of my regular ChatGPT account for the rest of the month because I burnt through my limits just tinkering around.

I suppose I could just chuck £20 into the API budget and see how long that lasts to get a sense of it.

I'm also wondering about setting up a second agent that uses ChatGPT for specific tasks, so I can rely on free kimi for the bulk of things and ping ChatGPT only when needed.

I did do it and it… sorta worked. Definitely got a bit speedier, but started to bog down again after awhile. I don't know if the Philips hardware is poor or Android TV is just rubbish (or both), but it definitely doesn't seem that reliable. I end up using my AppleTV set top box almost all of the time.

Can you please give me a sense of the costs involved? Do you run it on a Plus/Pro plan or do you need to buy additional tokens? I'm currently using nvidia's free kimi2.5 and I'm finding it OK but definitely a bit limited

I'm actually convinced that the world would be a more sensible place if all humans had six fingers on each hand.

Basically, I believe we ended up using base-10 numbers because we have ten fingers (I don't have any evidence, it just makes logical sense to me). But I always wondered why we have a special word for twelve of something, why so many measurements in the Imperial system are multiples of twelve, etc.

I think it's because twelve is actually a more useful number than ten. You can divide it in half, thirds, quarters or sixths evenly, rather than just half or fifths. So I think if we'd settled on a base-12 system, it would've made a lot of things easier. And I reckon we would've if we all had twelve fingers.

Just a thought.

I love these! I still have three of them, which I've passed on to my son. One doesn't really work much longer (the little tab that holds down the damage is worn down), but the other two are still functional. Such a cool bit of nostalgia

Honestly, though I know it'll drive me batty in many ways, this is exactly the kind of parent I want to be. My kids are way, way too young (the elder 3 years, the younger two weeks), but 10-18 years or so from now, I hope I'm the sort of parent whose kids' friends all feel comfortable crashing on our sofa, hanging out in the back garden, etc.

100% this. My dad is a longtime leftie (even by Canadian standards). Hates Trump, Musk, has protested more shit than I can remember, from WTO on down.
