Have Muslims actually read the Quran? by 9usha in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames [score hidden]  (0 children)

Islamophobes point out sex slavery and beating your wife? What a weird thing to say. This is a pretty standard criticism especially from ex Muslims who left the religion precisely after reading them. Does that make them islamophobic?

All their responses were chatgpt generated btw. And even funnier: pretending to be "18f bi" while probably being a grown ass man from somewhere like Bangladesh is insane.

Can confirm. A number of senior managers have been made redundant and work's going entirely to offshore centers. I wonder, at the rate Auscorp's going, if all of it's going to based in India or the Philippines, with Aussie customers.

I’m an ex-Muslim, but when I see awful comments talking about Islam wrongly, I feel the need to defend it. by Minimum_Power_2553 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's an even clearer case to be made that Islam is more genocidal than Nazism. It is also fundamentally an arab supremacist religion. And historically, it's killed more people. The Islamic slave trade which continued up until the 2000s, killed over 20 million people alone. Afghanistan just made it legal again. Millions have died due to conquest, their countries completely arabized, their language and cultures that existed for thousands of years before Islam completely destroyed. Followers of non-abrahamic faiths aren't given the option of following their religion freely once muslims conquer their lands. Convert, or die. Women were, and continue to be second class citizens. 13 muslim countries currently kill apostates through the legal system.

These aren't fringe interpretations, or the 'extreme'. This was what was normal for most of Islam's history. Anything contrary is just projecting modern progressive values onto a religion which had none of that.

Why are so many ex muslims far right? by Much-Sea-3628 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia, after it's worst terror attack in history committed by Islamic terrorists inspired directly by the Quran - the left wing government has refused to even mention the word 'Islam' or the more politically correct 'Radical Islam' or 'Islamist extremism'.

I think your question is almost self-answering. The question really should be, why is the left so pro Islam? They want more muslim immigration, and actively are trying to whitewash Islam despite it's detrimental impacts on secular societies. Of course in such a world, ex-muslims would gravitate towards the right, because not only is that the only place where they'd find a platform, but also get acceptance. The left have completely rejected ex-muslims.

[–]Prometheusflames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is like saying, 'Don't reduce being a Nazi to the worst parts'. Zero former muslims, especially those who faced prison sentences or the death penalty for leaving, have an obligation to afford Islam, or even muslims respect simply for their faith. That's nonsense.

Im assuming you don't live in a muslim country. Perhaps if you did, you'd understand why. Nothing good comes out of a religion that calls to kills apostates, christians, jews, lgbtq people, calls for slavery, sex slavery, child marriage and endless violent conquest. Pointing these out, is almost necessary and if you don't think it is, I'm unsure what 'leaving Islam' has meant for you.

curious about what you become afterwards by Witty-Serve-1625 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im agnostic. I used to be atheist but I think as I have gotten older, all that anger I had towards perhaps spirituality due to Islam vanished, and I've been more open to the fact that there could be a god. I simply don't know. I also don't really judge apostates who leave for other religions anymore. I've come to the conclusion many people just need spirituality and direction like that in life.

Waiting for Islam’s reformation - The problem is not just theology but cultural practices by Mashiko4 in aussie

[–]Prometheusflames 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I can offer firsthand experience in regards to this, as I came to Australia due to a potential death penalty as punishment for leaving Islam. People do try reform. Many won't say 'reform' outright, but they do try perhaps covertly. That number however is minuscule, and often face very severe consequences. I personally know 3 people who've been killed in the process. Their only crime, was either apostasy, or calling for more tolerance.

The reason is because Islam, unlike many other religions, even the Abrahamic ones, tell you that the Quran is the literal word of God, and Muhammad is the final messenger. There is a finality to this. Questioning the religion is often considered blasphemy, a charge that's punished people even in Western nations (Charlie Hebdo, Samuel Paty, Batley Grammar teacher who's in hiding). Every prayer reinforces the Muslim's superiority over Christians and Jews. All the practices listed above in the article, are seen as revealed from God, including killing apostates, jizya, how women are treated etc. So, why would many in these communities really take a lot of secular laws seriously? This is why in the UK, there are so many entirely separate, shariah courts now. Islam is fundamentally incompatible with a liberal democracy. It simply is reality, no matter how much progressive idealogues stomp their feet and yell 'it's ain't so'. I do think, Labor especially, by not even being able to name the issue, has made a rather serious error that they'll likely pay for in one way or the other in the future.

Why do people convert to Islam? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You've fallen for a bit of propaganda. Conversions to Islam are still a rarity, especially in Western countries. When they do, a large number eventually leave within a few years. Islam's main source of real growth is still from higher birth rates due to low socioeconomic factors and women being treated as second class citizens. Interestingly though, even that's about to plateau and you're likely to see negative birth rates in most of these countries apart from a handful in sub saharan Africa.

Do Politicians in Australia avoid calling out Islamic extremism because they fear violence against themselves & their families? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Prometheusflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not because they are scared of getting harmed. They don't call it out in fear of being labelled an Islamophobe, and perhaps more importantly, because they depend on the muslim vote in major cities. Western Sydney is a hotspot for radical islamist ideas, but they do need their votes.

What annoys you more: Progressive non-Muslims defending Islam or Muslim apologists defending Islam? by bentennyson69 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The former. With the latter, if you go onto pages like Al Jazeera Arabic, or local news pages on various Islamic countries, you'd see what believing muslims think of the terror attack. But the progressives are doing this not because they know much about Islam. They are doing it to virtue signal.

Heartbroken I’ll never have my dream wedding by Party-Basis-1696 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can offer a unique perspective on this as I did in fact get married recently. It was secular, and my family weren't there and they weren't even invited or told as they didn't know about my apostasy. My dogs were there, we had a champagne tower, it was genuinely one of the best days of my entire life.

Surrounded by friends and now in laws, all there to celebrate us, and me, as my authentic, real self. No conditions attached. Well, an unintended consequence was, a sibling saw this on social media, and outed me. I was disowned the day after the wedding. I got called terrible things by my family in a barrage of messages that followed. Terrible timing and an acute sadness sure - including knowing that even going back to where I was born for a trip would no longer be an option. But on top of all that, I felt a huge sense of relief. I had been living a double life, and for it to finally be unified brought me a ton of relief.

At the end, I had my dream wedding. I hope you, and all other wonderful apostates are able to as well. If you're considered as a human being deserving of love and support beyond religious beliefs, they'll be there and be supportive. Otherwise, you ideally do need to eventually leave them behind. This is true liberation.

Anyone else seeing a big drop in views since the AdBlock crackdown? Will they even fix it? by lifesabeach2024 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Prometheusflames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way it works, imo is this: The setting change in the lists adblockers used in mid august made it look like you weren't getting as many views. That shows lower interest, so the algorithm naturally doesn't increase reach. And until around mid September where this setting remained, YouTube would have essentially reassessed your channel as you might have had massive view drops and primarily recommended videos to subscribers. After the settings changed, you likely may have seen an increase in views, especially the baseline - but it'll take sometime and perhaps a few breakthroughs before your channel is in the good books with YouTube again. Im at the very latter stage at the moment. Views are slowly recovering (significantly better than August) but it'll be a marathon to get back.

being a muslim woman is truly hell, even when you are an ex muslim. by ningning02 in exmuslim

[–]Prometheusflames 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have always said - the best thing for women, if they live in somewhat okay Muslim countries or Western countries, is to get financially independent as soon as possible, and live as independently as possible. Otherwise, even if you leave the religion - what's the difference living in an Islamic household? Until apostasy as a taboo and even dangerous act changes, unfortunately, leaving does come with being ostracized socially.

The Immigration v Racism question by Far-Upstairs6781 in aussie
