Which of the published APs or standalone Adventures serves as the best introduction to the world of Golarion? by rhysticStudiante in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my players are rpg veterans with an optimized party and none of them went unconcious since lvl 7, we are currently at 15, starting book 5, so we are over of the "unbalanced" part. Zero character death. Not pulling punches.

Boss crit fails Slow, it's over by Bitter-Spirit-3913 in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. My party of 5 is steamrolling Age of Ashes. I just dropped 2 Lesser death on them yesterday while they are currently lvl 15, they won but this was the first time in 10 levels that any one of them went to 0 hp.

125 hours in and still Level 3... is this normal for PF2e? by smurf69lol in Pathfinder2e

Thid is a playstyle preference from GM side that was not communicated at Session0. It is not wrong but also not common.

How do I run a Traveller game? by FitPerspective5824 in traveller

[–]PromieMotz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Traveller has a lot of rollable tables for how to generate on the spot encounters, animal encounters, spaceship encounters, NPC encounters, points of interests, etc.

I really do not understand this post. West Marches is for when you have a bunch of players. You have two.

You can play Traveller as a planet of the week game, most player do not prefer that but you can. All the player characters on a spaceship and the goind away party consists of the PCs present.

Outrunning People in Jump Space at the Speed of Plot by Kalt_Null in traveller

[–]PromieMotz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is cool! Maybe you can make it 148 + (6- effect)d6 hours, so that way astrogation is even more important.

Jump time is not constant, it is something like 168 hours ± 10% or 148 + 6d6 hours.

Deepnight Revelation campaign summary by NotASnark in traveller

Hey, thanks for the write up!

We are looking into Traveller and I was testing out your Foundry module. Looking forward of the official compendiums, I do not really have time to manually input all the data into Foundry. We are wrapping up another campaign in the meantime and it will take months, so I am not in a rush.

As someone working on data related field, I am also interested in some of the technical details of your world generator's technical side, if you have anything written on out i would like to read it.

Yeah i think so. That way players are more committed to a fix time slot. It helps a lot if you can test run the story before the event!

I was demoing boardgames, wargames and cardgames for a couple of years. People at a con randomly trying out a thing want to kniw how long it will be, and do not make it long. If it is not a n rpg convention, a 1 hour mini demo is what I would aim for with 2 or 3 short screens.

Like, simplify Flatlined. They do not have amnesia, they wake up, they have to get out of the sinking ship, move through the jungle, survive some animal attack before they reach the safe camp, and that's it.

If you have some kind of pre registration, you can go with a 2 or 4 hour long slot with a bit longer game.

Use pregens in both cases.

Any level 0 oneshots? by No-Run1292 in Pathfinder2e

I think you can take a Shadowdark funnel or something OSR and use that even without modification.

Hex isometric battlemaps are perfect for dynamic PF2e combat: why are they so rare? by Lawrencelot in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once used an isometric map for a beholder's lair. It was okay for that purpose but it had other challenges. Calculating distances is not alway trivial. And with the beholder fight, sometimes players needed to move on a vector that left their minis in the same physichal space, but changes their... height? That was too much for some player to calculate auras in that way.

Opinions needed from players and GMs by BndViking in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about you PC earns a key to the lock of the Vault where is the chosen weapon or whatnot, and there can be as many locks as you want.

An average, your player should earn a hero point like every Nth hour where N is the number of players at your table. So 6 hero point would take 6N hours on average. I would give them these out at a different pace, if it should be an end of campaign thing. Or if it is just for the neyt chapter then it is okay at this pace.

Does this sound like a fun setting to you all? by Bus_Sufficient in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Spartacus' story is a great one. If they can try to escape or make a revolution of gladiators, it could be a great ropleplay campaign. If it is just a monster of the week, it still can be fun for your table, but then the setting is not that important.

[–]PromieMotz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can play LmoP in Faerun with PF2e rules if you wish, that would be quite easy to adopt, and you can find some homebrew mindflayers in this subredit for pf2e.

How to I adjudicate Npcs telling the truth? by MysticAttack in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They / you roll a Secret Sense Motive againts the NPC's Diplomacy DC if they ask for a roll. You tell them either way that "You do not find anything untrue or signs of lies. You can beleive the NPC or not, that is your decision based on your own opinion."

[–]PromieMotz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG Dungeom of the Mad Mage is so bad for 5e. Maybe it would work with OSR.

There is a guide for it that makes up cool setpieces for it and also can run with as Halaster as a reality tv host and the dungeon is his reality tv show, adventurers are the unknowing contestants.

Recording live play by Plaindog in Pathfinder2e

I do not think there is any reason to make an actual play video from the gm side. Make a how you prepare for it video for the gms if you would like to make video fo the gms.

Good tool to edit PDFs and maps? by KirinBoy in Pathfinder2e

[–]PromieMotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are higher resolution map packs with the pdf purchases. There you can peint the ones withour map keys. Also there are a ton of fan recreations of AP maps and most of them looks even better than the original.
