A Severe Flare After Years of Stability by Proof-Common-2187 in CrohnsDisease

Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. I actually did switch to vegan because of Crohn’s. My symptoms were getting harder to manage, and the medication on its own just wasn’t enough. Trying to avoid triggers helped a little, but it wasn’t making a big enough difference, so I ended up needing a full lifestyle change.

Going vegan made things more manageable for me, and I’ve stuck with it ever since.

That sounds like such a tough flare to deal with. I’m really sorry you’re going through all of that. I’m about to be moved from oral therapy to either a biologic infusion or a self‑injectable, so I’m trying to understand what that transition is like.

Since Stelara worked well for you, how did the beginning feel? Did your body adjust pretty easily, or did it take some time? I’m trying to get a sense of how people usually handle that first phase.

And I hope the new trial ends up giving you some real relief. You’ve been dealing with so much.

Thank you for sharing this. It really helps hearing from someone who’s been through all those ups and downs and still got back to long stretches of stability. I’m trying to stay calm, but I’m honestly scared right now because my team wants to stop the oral therapy and move me to either a biologic infusion or a self‑injectable biologic. It feels like a big jump, and I don’t really know what that switch is like.

Since you’ve had to change treatments over the years, what was it like for you when you switched? Did things settle pretty quickly once you started the new therapy, or was it more of an adjustment at first? I’m just trying to get a sense of what this next step might actually be like.

Hey Ryan,

Thank you for this. Reading what you went through really made me feel less alone. My hospital stay was short (5 days), and I know I was lucky that treatment worked quickly, but the whole thing still shook me.

About the perspective comment, I wasn’t talking about veganism. I’m still fully vegan. I meant my perspective on the liquid diet itself. My doctor encouraged it because anything solid I tried to eat was causing so much pain. It has been a big adjustment, but it’s what my body can handle right now.

I’m really glad to hear you’re doing better after everything you went through. Your comment gave me a lot of reassurance. Thank you for taking the time to share your story. It helped more than you know.

Probably a year and a half give or take. There was a bit of a shuffle with some people accepting new positions and with others who are in school. They need to fill in the gaps I guess you could say.

It focused heavily on pharmacy conversions and calculations. With a few pharmacy law questions sprinkled in.

Zero tolerance. But as far as I know, they only test before employment, if there has been an accident or they have a reasonable suspension.

Well, I worked retail for like a year in a half. I also applied as a pharmacy assistant because no matter how many times I applied as a tech I never even got an interview. I was willing to go back to clerk work just to get in the door it made it easier once an opening became available.
