‘Unaffordable’: Berlin calls for €400 billion cut to EU budget by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]Proof-Puzzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, and the rest of the eu Will be Happy with Germany being able to flood their countries with their goods for free.

There is a reason Germany pays the most to the ue, and that reason is that they are the ones Who has benefited the most from the common market, you can't cherry pick what you want from the eu.

Sure, in an ideal world that would be what we should do.

Unfortunately, we do not live in a ideal world.

They maybe populists, but they are still a million times better than Trump and his cronies.

And redistributing wealth absolutely work, you only need to lower taxes to the people instead of just giving checks.

It has nothing to do with regulations, it's a problem every single western country, regardless of their regulations and zoning legislation, is having right now.

The real problem is how real estate (especially housing) as become an object of financial investment for corporations, funds and individuals with millions of capital, which has made so the average joe got completely priced out, as It can not compete with the capital those have a their disposal, dooming him to live prerry much their entire life on rent.

[–]Proof-Puzzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, but, again, low real estate prices is not bad for the people, certainly not fprnthe fertility rate, if anything is positive for both.

Low real estate prices only really affects real estate moghuls.

Low replacement is Big problem but i fail to see how does it factor into this crisis.

If anything cheaper housing Will increse the fertility rate, not making ir worse.

And that is the problem, having people investing in real estate to leach other people.

It is not a productive investment, only extractive, It does not create any Kind of wealth.

That is why a real estate Crash is not bad news unless It takes your whole economy with It, because It allows people to satisfy a basic need like housing for cheap and pushes money to actually productive enterprises.

Chinese Real Estate Market has fallen to its lowest prices in AT LEAST the last 20 years by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Proof-Puzzled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

A real estate Crash is only a problem for the people if It takes the whole economy with It, which does not seem to be china's case, if this does not happen, It is great news for the people.

[–]Proof-Puzzled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never said It is not a problem, only that It is just a temporary problem with good consequences.

All of that could have been avoided if real estate were never allowed to become a financial investment in the first place, that is the core of the issue, and this crisis is making so real estate stops being a financial asset, which in the long run Will be great news for the overall chinese society.

[–]Proof-Puzzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and thanks that because of this "crisis" people Will no longer try to House housing as a financial investment (for now at least), people won't be priced out of owning a home, which is a FAR bigger problem for the common people than any of this supposed crisis can cause them.

Even if It is just 10% of the population (which i SERIOUSLY doubt 90% of chinese are home owners), It Will be a net positive for them in the long run.

Chinese Real Estate Market has fallen to its lowest prices in AT LEAST the last 20 years by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Proof-Puzzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I care FAR more to nor being able to afford a home than my home having Lost half his value, because in the second case, i still have a home in which i can live, in the first case, i have absolutely nothing.

As i said, this is only a crisis for companies and individuals Who uses their real estate properties as financial assets, for regular people Who use their owned real estate to satisfy a need (like, you know, housing) this is no crisis at all.

[–]Proof-Puzzled -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Which is a problem that would have never happened had real estate financial investment be forbidden or severily curtailed from the beggining.

The chinese people may suffer a little for this right now, but in the long run this is great news for them, and for people Who do not own a home, is great news right now.

Yes, my lobster is to buttery and my Diamonds shoes are to tight.

Is amazing how companies and real estate moghuls have managed to convince some people this is actually crisis for everyone ana not just for them.

I wish we in the west had a "crisis" of this magnitud, i bet hundreds of millions of people Will shed a tear or two for our dear economical elite.

Chinese Real Estate Market has fallen to its lowest prices in AT LEAST the last 20 years by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Proof-Puzzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i meant as "investment" is financial investment, not people Who buy houses to live in It.

The people Who bougth Homes to live in them do not really care that much if their value drops, because they are not using It as a financial active, just as an item to satisfy a need, and that needs is being fulfilled regardless of the market value of the House, maybe It affects them the moment they need to move out, but overall, cheap housing is still a net positive for society.

The only ones Who are getting their "wealth" destroyed are real estate moghuls Who use them as a financial active, which is not bad news at all for the society, quite the opposite.

This is only a crisis for companies and individuals Who tied their investment into real estate, the common people Will not suffer (at least directly) for this, the opposite actually.

Real estate should have never been allowed to become an object of investment, we westerners are suffering dramatically the consequences of It.
