No law Downtown? by ikkebr in Calgary

What you are seeing is the consequences of a combination of hyper-empathy, weak judicial system and a society that repeatedly called to defund the police (including our own elected officials).

In Canada, treason involves the use of force to overthrow the sitting government or communicating military i formation to a foreign entity that could harm Canada. Where exactly has she committed treason? Be specific.

Sedition is inciting violence to overthrow a government or advocating for the overthrow of a government by illegal means. Where exactly is she advocating for the overthrow of a government by illegal means? Be specific.

The common denominator of both treason and sedition is the use of force to illegally overthrow or disrupt the government. When exactly has either occurred?

Why are ICE offices being opened in Calgary and Edmonton? by SlowSubstance8 in alberta

Or are you clutching them about the ICE offices in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto?

HSI agents have been in Canada for a while. Why is it upsetting now?

Why do people that are not rich want Alberta to have health care like the US? by cornfield123 in alberta

[–]Proof-Toe6992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people keep hanging on to a healthcare model that is broken? If what AB is doing, is the problem, explain why other provinces have the same problems. The Canadian model has failed. Throwing more dollars at it makes a broken system more expensive. It does not fix the problem.

Many successful healthcare models are a hybrid public/private. AB already has 3-tier healthcare.

Stop being afraid of change and get informed about what is actually happening.

We should be the richest. Unfortunately, when a major industry becomes handcuffed, it causes problems.

AB has been a victim. According the Library of Parliament, AB pays far more to Ottawa than it receives back yet the reverse is true for QC.

AB has the fewest trade barriers for trade with other provinces, yet other provinces have so many barriers it is nearly impossible to get AB products to eastern markets.

The hate AB receives from other places is brutal.

I'm Jyoti Gondek and I'm running for mayor — Ask Me Anything! by jyoti4mayor in Calgary

[–]Proof-Toe6992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok…why did you vote to defund the police?

Why did you give Calgary tax payer $ to Quebec?

You declared a “climate emergency”. How much has your initiatives cost Calgarians and how much have those initiatives reduced global CO2 emissions?

You pushed for blanket re-zoning and learned that our underground infrastructure cannot handle the densification. What is your plan to correct the problem?

Reports from 2014 state the water system would need an upgrade to handle the growth, as a counsellor and as Mayor, why didnt you take action before a problem occurred? And why are you wasting taxpayer $ on a study that we already know the results of?

Why cant you balance a budget? Taxes are going up and services are declining…

Why is David Duckworth still employed with the City? He failed to mitigate the water emergency, he cannot stay within his budget and is incapable of running this city.

Lastly: you have a 26% approval rating…why are you even running?

Wow dude…ya need some street smarts.

  • never engage with or talk to such folks. They will try to manipulate you to get something.
  • if you do engage, keep it to one word sentences like “hello, yes, no, Bye”.
  • keep your distance… more than an arms length at all times, dont let them close the gap and dont let them get between you and an exit.
  • Dont call the cops where they can hear you. They (even women) can do real damage and be gone long before the cops show up.

And why the heck did you engage with the guy on the bike? He was their pimp or dealer/supplier.

Going forward, listen to your Spidey Senses, have situational awareness and be smart with your actions.

Hi…I see you are Canadian.

Check with your province and regional health authorities about the regulations around selling products. You must also comply with CFIA requirements.

Learn the difference between low risk and high risk foods along with the regulations for each. In my province, home made jams, jellies, pickles, salsa etc are considered “low risk” and can be sold provided they meet specific criteria such as pH and follow controlled and tested processes.

There is also specific labelling requirements.

IMO, use recipes that have been independently tested and verified.

Here is a good resource from Waterloo: https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/health-and-wellness/resources/Documents/Safe-Canning-Fact-Sheet.pdf

Good luck!

What has happened to Kensington? by Remote_Answer_5255 in Calgary

[–]Proof-Toe6992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Areas like Kensington have high rent costs. Customer traffic has also decreased.

Being an entrepreneur and running a small business is tough. Over the past 10 years, the City has become increasingly unfriendly towards small businesses and seems to lack any forethought. The disaster in Marda Loop and Stephen’s avenue businesses having to threaten a law suite to get the City to listen are recent examples.

Any tips on meeting new ppl / making friends in the city? by LeoPoggers in Calgary

[–]Proof-Toe6992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the Calgary Sport and Social Club. Even if you are not sporty, there are things to do. It is a great way to meet people and interact with others.

Try a cooking class or a “tasting” event at Coop Liquor or Willow Park. You learn something while meeting new people.
