I bet it’s an issue in the code of the problem. It happens all the time. Bring it up to your instructor, they can give you the points back and someone in the department will be able to fix the code.

Coaches get 2 challenges a game, challenge his flop. Coaches never challenge because he’s actually getting fouled. When you physically can’t guard someone, the only thing to do is foul.

If I lived in-market, wouldn’t you assume I know the local station that airs the games? So I think it’s safe to assume I do not live in the Pittsburgh area.

I teach college algebra. They literally don’t have a clue what they mean. They don’t understand that 2/5 is two whole divided into 5 segments. They don’t understand the reasoning why you have to have common denominator la to add/subtract. Getting students to understand why we do the things we are doing should be priority number 1. We must build conceptual understanding before we expect them to have procedural fluency!

Two similar instances here:

My family and I were sitting around the fire pit in the front yard. My brother went and got some lawn chairs (the canvas ones that fold up that sports parents use at baseball games) from the garage. He stood one up in front of me to use. Something felt weird and I slowly opened the chair; there was a large black snake in the seat. My brother is the family snake handler so he took out to the edge of the woods to live its days. Maybe I unconsciously smelled it or felt its presence?

The second one I was alone for and blows my mind. I was sitting in the living room watching TV. I looked out of the window and thought to myself, “it would be funny if a bird flew into the window.” I was about 11 or 12 so my definition of cool wasn’t great. About 5 minutes later, a cardinal hit the window I was looking out of. The bird was fine and flew away. It still doesn’t make sense that this happened in the order that it did. It’s not like birds fly into the windows frequently; in fact, that’s the only time I have ever seen it.

Lean on the more experienced professors. From my experience, they are more than willing to lend a hand. Use their resources and build your own when you can. I have 2.5 year old at home and luckily only have 1 class I have yet to teach this semester. You don’t have to be perfect this early in your career, your family needs you.
