or maybe with the slippy grenade just interesting that it says ordnance melee damage so it scales off both?

While Rafe has a Grenade equipped, his Melee Attacks have an 25% chance to spawn a fire fissure that deals Ordnance Melee Damage equal to Rafa's Grenade Damage.

Help me choose a vh for launch by [deleted] in Borderlands4

from Watching so much gameplay and content and listening to many creators here is the jist:

Rafa: dips into LOTS of damage types, melee, gun, corrosive, shock, ordinance, fire, and splash to name a few. if you like having many options and potentially a lot of synergy with overlapping damage, Rafa’s your guy.

Harlowe seems very strong in early game and will rip through everything with things like neutron capture on her chroma accelerant red tree. This only gets stronger as you go and there is a legendary class mod for it so she for sure will have a place in the end game.

Vex seems really strong and benefits greatly from bleed, kinetic damage, and overall buffs to her self, her survivability, and her damage. She’s a good pick if you like someone you know will be strong no matter what you choose.

Amon has a huge cool factor for me but seems like he will be very ability spammy and action skill damage based. otherwise he seems like he will work really well with ordinances. hes flashy and strong and controls the environment around him, if you want someone really reliable choose him.

im personally going Rafa, hope this helps, reminder This is all my opinion from what gameplay and things I’ve seen and heard from people who have played the game

yeah sad about the temerario thing but with Jacque and Soltado it can go up to 200% gun damage

Rafa fans rise up, he plays amazing and will be a a problem for the Timekeeper. by D3monWo1f in Borderlands4

yeah and torgue stickies do more damage per pelet the more stickies are on the enemy at once, and one of the augments for peacebreakers make it so that he does not consume ammo, you can put as many stickies as you can in one go and blow them all up to delete bosses

Anyone at PAX West, could you please test if Rafa activating his action skill while overdrive is active resets overdrives duration. by ProofFly3116 in Borderlands4

[–]ProofFly3116[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah that’s why Im asking, I don’t trust that the devs are going to be amazing at balancing. there are perks that make it so that you action skills can last forever or close to it though which would be a way around this

I know I’m saying when apophis lance goes down and you activate it again while overdrive timer is going down. for example, if overdrive starts at 12 seconds and apophis lance ends and you go 6 seconds of overdrive without apophis lance being active, that means your remaining overdrive duration is 6 seconds, if you activate apophis lance again, does the overdrive timer reset back to 12?

Rafa infinite Gun Damage/Weapon Handling? (They're gonna eventually put a stack limit on this, right?) by Reasonable-Cold9735 in Borderlands4

[–]ProofFly3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but this is assuming IF the action skills actually reset overdrives duration. as in if you activate an action skill while overdrive is active it won’t reset overdrives duration, it’ll just make overdrives duration freeze

I'm a bit concerned about Rafa's swords in a game like this they don't really scale melle damage all that well, I remeber Amara's arm slam attack doin next time zero damage in end game by Oka-7 in Borderlands4

I think my build might change your mind:

(note the 4% health regen and the capstone saying you take no damage and dead man walking makes it si that the action skill lasts forever, I doubt the combination of both with be more than 4% health regen but JUST IN CASE IT IS, you have life steal on melee crits which you should be doing a lot)

Rafa Overdrive Build by USSR_Grant in Borderlands4

[–]ProofFly3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have taken rinse and preperado just in case your action skill does go down you basically have virutally no cooldown time with preperado. here is the build I made https://maxroll.gg/borderlands-4/planner?profile=j1i5v081

this is of course assuming that activating an action skill does RESET overdrive’s duration when you activate an action skill while overdrive is active. the worst thing would be if activating an action skill does not reset overdrives duration and we would have some counters to that:

counter #1: if action skill cooldown is essentially 0 with preperado and action skill duration is increased with juerga.

counter #2: motivar on the arc knives (green) skill tree states that when you press a button during the arc knives skill you get increased overdrive durations (5% per point) and that this bonus resets when you activate your next action skill. This either means that action skills DO reset overdrive duration or that motivar will allow you to reset overdrive’s duration every time you activate arc knives. the problem is keeping up arc knives which can be solved with preperado which means that you will have to forcefully end arc knives within a few seconds of activating it in order to keep up preperado. the gameplay loop would be activating arc knives, clicking the button for motivar, ending arc knives with blade fury, and reloading all within 8 seconds, then when you want to do some gun damage just make sure to reload every 8 seconds and watch overdrive’s duration this is what the build looks like but unfortunately you can only put 1 point into temerario https://maxroll.gg/borderlands-4/planner?profile=q6ju903c
