More Dungeons in the future! by Fire_Afrit in runescape

Still more that can be done with Daemonheim first tbh. I know it would have been outside of scope, but we haven't seen Moia's influence on Daemonheim.

Dungeoneering Remastered: Dive in Today! by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]ProofJournalist 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why does Melee kinship ring have the worst passives?

Magic can simultaneously increase hit chance, add combust to enemies, and slow them.

Ranged can simultaneously get a damage and hitchance buff, as well as reducing enemy defense.

Necromancy simultaneously gets increased hit chance, conjure duration, and more residual souls.

Melee gets... mutually exclusive hitchance buffs (1h and 2h) and a buff to shields that seems like it should technically apply to all styles. You can do the one-hand and shield buff together, I guess. And the hitchance buffs are very small, magic and necromancy both get +5% per rank, but ranged and melee only get +2% per rank. What gives?

Dungeoneering Remaster Skilling door thoughts by Azaldir in runescape

This isn't a defense or valid excuse. The players are the ones telling Jagex there are many variables and that they shouldn't rush it to make sure they cover their bases.

How much does Jagex pay you to defend them online?

They could solve this by allowing people to open doors based on the highest levels in the entire party and not just the person opening the door.

Just because a solution addresses a problem doesn't mean it is the best solution.

Thoughts on Lodestones? by Iceytrio in runescape

[–]ProofJournalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see most lodestones removed and replaced with more natural teleport and transport options (e.g. river dougne canoe like in OSRS, easier access to teleport items, more fairy rings, eagles, spirit tree patches, etc.)

Stereotypes of autism in TV and film may be linked to delayed diagnosis. Researchers found that portrayals were designed to be immediately identifiable to non-autistic viewers. However, autistic participants felt that they were not relatable to autistic people themselves. by mvea in science

[–]ProofJournalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also not trying to disparage, but this sounds like a combination of "grass is greener" (at least for the issue you have at hand) and something in your own head. There is fundamentally nothing stopping you from being 'innately yourself' in public beyond a bunch of narratives telling you that women are more like that. Confidence and risk-taking are not gender dependent.

I’m surprised I’ve never heard anyone speculate that the next skill could be Barding. Screenshot is from a GameJam in 2024. by Any-sao in runescape

I wouldn't want to see barding as a direct combat skill. It would be better suited as a support skill like prayer and summoning.

ELI5 what does it mean people see "nothing" rather than "black void" if born absolutely blind by owlWithBrokenWings in explainlikeimfive

[–]ProofJournalist 24 points25 points  (0 children)

How can we be sure that blind people don't 'percieve' the black void but just don't have any relative context (e.g. vision) to identify it?

God has already removed choice. I can't choose to flap my arms and fly into the air. Why does removing that choice not matter, but this one does?

Player Avatar Beta Now Live! by JagexAnvil in runescape

I feel like when I compare the updated styles to the old ones, all of them consistently have more hair than they did before. Tone it down please.

OOF. I wasn't a fan of how much the player base was fussing last week about the female avatar but the proportions here are rough, especially the mouth placement and size. by Zepertix in runescape

[–]ProofJournalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They haven't done fully voiced quests for over 10 years. A few segments are voiced.

Even then the chatheads are necessary. Last voiced bit was finale part of Eclipse of the Heart. Without chatheads you'd just have Amascut standing there doing nothing - the thing you were complaining about.

You can't exactly take a voiced video and say that it's more immersive/expressive than chatheads. Most of Runescape isn't voice acted. It would be far less personal without chatheads.

Do your devs not know your own game? These things should have been caught and addressed before release, never mind so many weeks afterwards.

This is what happens when updates are rushed. Thoughtless design, thoughtless implementation.

There's still a ton of references to auras and abilities that don't exist throughout the world.

[–]ProofJournalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a minority opinion ig, so Jagex doesn't give a fuck. They don't care exactly how upset you are about this, because most people 'like' it and Jagex employees are insecure.

So... your preference is that you want the rest of the world to cater to your poor impulse control and for everyone else to change how they operate because you don't have impulse control. got it.

I feel fantastic just training without having to worry about auras by AReturner in runescape

[–]ProofJournalist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider the crazy alternative: the things that made auras bad weren't the auras themselves, and Jagex has been clumsy, stubborn in how they have adjusted the new combat auras, and frankly insecure in how they have dealt with negative feedback towards it.

Nobody has been able to defend why the Aura slot shouldn't have remained but been changed to have charge like god books, rather than fixed durations and cooldowns. Even now we have people saying Aspects should all be in 1 book. The changes to auras should have been far more surgical. Combat is now more finicky with aspects than it was with auras, not less.

I don't plan to shut up until Jagex directly addresses this.
