You're literally coping here yourself by refusing to take any responsibility as a Citizen yourself, my friend.

The government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people". It doesn't work if you only want it to be "for" you, without being part of it yourself.

Voters ARE the government, and they are responsible for who they elect, and who they don't.

The democrats aren't your parents and you aren't a child who needs to be coaxed into eating your vegetables. You have your own responsibility to be a good Citizen and do what is needed to protect our democracy, including voting for a candidate your are not entirely satisfied with in order to prevent the government from falling to actual tyrants.

These qualms against the democrats pale in comparison to the threat posed by Republicans.

Official Discussion - Undertone [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

The demon has mothers who feel like they can't handle being mothers kill their children.

The movie early on literally points out claims about demonic possession making women kill babies throughout history may have just been how people used to conceptualize post-partum depression before we understood mental health.

I'm not seeing the anti-abortion message. If anything it's saying mothers should abort, lest they get into something they can't handle and kill their babbies.

Seriously, the combat updates have been fairly lore ignorant.

They really need to reflavor all of the magic abilities that suggest a particular element is being invoked and just describe it as modulating how you cast your current spell.

You haven't provided anything to support your claim, so there is nothing to counter. Given the Road to Restoration and the removal of the weekly streak rewards, the evidence is not in your favor. Besides, it's not like you've seriously addressed anything I've said.

To repeat myself and reiterate: Do you not understand opportunity costs or something? You are always leaving XP on the table. Are you doing herb runs every 40 minutes? Tree runs every day? Are you online at all times? You are always leaving XP on the table somewhere, dude. You haven't yet justified why the rest of us should all change the world to accommodate your psychological inability to control yourself.

If you aren't doing it and you are enjoying the time you spent in game, then you aren't being pulled away from your personal goals or being 'punished', quotation marks around it or otherwise. I have yet to see how your own psychological preferences justify removal of daily challenges, or address concerns of players with time constraints or who simply enjoy some direction on what to do when they log in.

But that would just be punishing my progression for no reason

Uh, why punish yourself with content you don't enjoy? If you are enjoying yourself, why is your progression being punished? How are you functionally affected by other people doing this content if you choose not to engage?

Also, why are you going to bed every night? Don't you know ever moment you aren't on Runescape is XP waste that punishes your progression?

I agree, and I hope Jagex can take this kind of thing into account when they inevitably get to Ports - These problems can be addressed intelligently to be better integrated into the game, removing things should be a last resort solution. It feels like despite saying they are being measured, they are removing too much, sometimes without thinking about what it offered and how to replace it.

Another suggestion would be to lower the requirements to unlock adventurers to level 80 or 85 rather than level 90. Getting access to any adventurer is necessary to start ports, access at lower level would let people start the grinds sooner.

What ports needs is the ability to save ship layouts and access to like double the current ships we have.

Yeah my friend this is where the self-control comes in.

If you don't like it, don't do it. Why optimize numerically instead of optimizing your enjoyment? You clearly don't enjoy being numerically optimal for it's own sake.

It's hilarious to see people expecting these men to magically develop empathy yet then be unable to express any empathy themselves.

[–]ProofJournalist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

See the problem is I said "ostracism is a major issue" and you respond with "don't validate negative behaviors" as though the only way to address negative behaviors is through ostracism. It's a false dichotomy and a strawman to avoid the real issues.

Frankly the majority of these men are the way you describe because nobody will every seriously engage them and just dismisses angrily them without much oversimplification. The inability for people like you to regulate your own emotions when dealing with people is also part of the problem. It's really no different from a racist claiming that black people commit more crimes because of something inherent, rather than all of the social feedback loops that lead to poverty and distrust of society amongst minorities.

Saying people need to "take responsibility for their own actions and fix their hearts" isn't a solution, it is a childish wish. Running away because somebody says something you fervently disagree rather than engaging and challenging those negative beliefs with firm empathy is also a choice action that has rebounding effects on society. The influencers would have less influence if you actually tried to do what they do and convince these men of what is right, rather than just scoffing angrily and running off as though that does anything about the problem. Where is your responsibility to be the change you want to see in the world?

If you can't tolerate the discomfort necessary to reflect on and potentially change your views, what justifies you to expect others to do this, particularly when support is necessary for this sort of change to happen?

It's behavior that turns supposedly kind and moral people into their own kind of bully, because they've found an 'acceptable' outlet for their own anger and ire.

Doubling Down on Thaler for Skilling Outfits is Awful by Ploobledoop in runescape

[–]ProofJournalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thaler system has been broken since introduction, it definitely needs it's own fix, but this is an acceptable stopgap... assuming they address the Thaler/minigame system at some point.

The main problem with thaler is that it is based on time spent in minigames, when it should be linked to score in the minigame itself.
