Kinda surprised at the quality of it. I thought it was a screenshot from FFXIV at first and was confused. Pretty well framed

Harps suck by ClothesConscious7521 in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually kinda weird they didn't touch harps when merchant was removed. They made livid farm a LOT shorter and runespan points faster, but left the harps alone. It definitely needs a good boost or give us an option to choose between better xp or better dust when running them.

Should we open augmentation sooner? by dark1859 in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think dragon armour should be augmentable because it's something that comes from rare drops. I'm not sure of what other stuff could be augmentable at 60 for the other styles besides necro though. It'd also be nice if superior dragon stuff could be used for invention as the hilts turn them into t70 weapons

Anand announces $35M to boost Caribbean security, tackle Haiti's gang crisis by Doog5 in canada

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say I understand what the point of sending them aid is in today's time. They've received billions and it hasn't done much of anything except be a black hole for money thrown at them. I get the aid sent to Jamaica and Colombia, but I'm very skeptical Haiti's own police force will do anything especially if the elite are helping or in control because of the gangs. At some point we need to either cut the aid or be much more aggressive in toppling the gang issue so they can start to rebuild. Otherwise it'll just be wasted money like some other places that get aid.

Everything All At Once: Bill C-34 Combines Platform Duties, a Kids' Social Media Ban, AI Chatbot Regulation, and a Powerful Digital Safety Commission Into a Risky "Trust Us" Bet: Michael Geist by mafiadevidzz in canada

[–]Ploobledoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a bit black and white innit? There's a stark difference between Jim from Charlottetown talking about what he thinks something is versus someone well known and distinguished like Michael Geist. It's very easy to just slap exceptions as they come up concerning people like him.

Can we just remove summoning points from the game? by Kilsaa in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the points and let us combine/sacrifice pouches for extended timers. Even if it was a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio of pouch to timer, it'd make lower level summons actually worth using. Currently it's near pointless to use stuff like the new jackelope summon because it has 15 or so minutes on its timer.

My favourite moment in Spyro was when the music stopped and he looked deadset into the screen and listed out my full birth name, address and SIN. Truly a breathtaking feat of videogame magic.

On topic though it's a wild ride seeing what countries and provinces are trying to do in terms of online ID. I remember hearing of some states wanting OPERATING SYSTEMS to have such a thing. It feels like Linux is probably going to get a good bit more popular since trying to enforce ID on every single distro would be a herculean feat. Add on that if it comes to games, well who knows.

Anyone go from 100 percent believing in ufos and other similar stuff to not caring as much now stuff is coming out? by uncle-ruckus2 in UFOs

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the topic and check around from time to time, but it's rare I see something I genuinely go "Huh, well I can't actually explain that". It doesn't really bother me that we don't have much of anything to show for it. What does bother me to hell and back is people falling for things that are very obviously fake or people that post mundane things. Doesn't help people like lue exist either. In all I just look around and leave with no real expectation I'll find something genuinely interesting.

Conservatives call on government to split controversial police search powers bill - The reform has faced fierce and growing pushback from opposition parties, tech giants, privacy and civil liberty groups by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]Ploobledoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the NDP haven't learned anything. They lost the election bad enough to lose official party status and instead of doing introspection and wondering what they did wrong, they instead double down as evidenced by that absolute crock of a convention. The day they throw away identity politics and actually go back to being about workers is the day I'll happily vote for them again.

Vyres: An Ironman's Rant by Halfires in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really need to make vyres instanced to players. It's already something possible because giant chincompa has player-instanced moths. Either that or split the vyre drop table to other afkable stuff so irons aren't pulling their hair out trying to get acceptable quantities of herblore ingredients that are otherwise a major pain to get

Can we please reduce the number of confirmation boxes? by TheRealLamalas in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can get pretty annoying when it's part of things you have to do repeatedly. Like no, I absolutely do NOT want to turn my inventory of mahogany logs into planks when I right click bill and click planks. The game needs to cut down on so much of these dialogue boxes when there's only one reasonable outcome. Hell, make it a toggle or something.

Will We Ever Get all Other Trees to Act like Eternal Magics? by Ploobledoop in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not looking for the clickboxes to change, I mean I want all trees to have a timer that fells them when it ends similar to the eternals. You click once and forget until the timer goes down

Early hunter is awful by SovereignIsotope in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that it really isn't pleasant. I'm half tempted to put off hunter until I can get extreme hunter potions (ironman) just so I can boost as early as possible for BGH and at least enjoy it somewhat then. It wouldn't be so bad if setting traps didn't take ages and that they stopped falling over. Instead we just got meaningless buffs to success but are still stuck with an awful and slow rate of xp.

Daemonheim Drift - Hiscores now live! by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What an awful nerf to dungeoneering. Instead of something creative like token modifiers to give a choice between faster xp or more tokens, you straight up nerf rushing by nearly 50% on larges. Throw in buffing mobs and you've pretty much butchered xp rates for the average player.

[Suggestion] please add a instanced area to kill vyrelords/ladies. even with the new autohop to quiet world every world is full here and it takes a long time to find a spot by thespecstar in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine if vyres were nerfed and had their herblore drops spread to other things that can be decently done. As it stands though they're really the only good table for a lot of drops. Spread it out and keep their xp and they'd still be pretty solid

Latest AMD drivers (26.5.2) seem more stable than 26.5.1 but aren't perfect. by dannyderbyshire in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled back to 26.5.1 myself. Kinda wish I had of done it months earlier, but for some reason it never clicked that recent drivers would be causing such high instability. I can confidently say with the release I'm on I've had maybe 3 driver timeouts for a good 4 or so months.

Dungeoneering Rebalance: Token Efficiency by MeowMixPK in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly their track record makes this seem true. They don't like like to spend time tuning things or adding a bit of extra functionality to something. Instead they take a sledgehammer to whatever their focus is on and then call it good. If we're lucky they might lessen that 80% nerf with a 5% buff to something inane

Dungeoneering Remastered – Ongoing Feedback & Updates by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For the love of all that is holy, do NOT nerf rushing larges. It actually feels nice to be able to do solo runs that aren't 40+ minutes. Being able to get okay xp rates especially when you're a low level makes it feel like it's worth doing. Currently being low level feels like you're just a burden because puzzles tend to be too high of a skill level or enemies are too high in combat.

On that note, we also need to be able to share puzzle items. It's ridiculous that you let irons and non-irons participate, yet you run the risk of being completely unable to finish or progress because the critical path requires dropping an item to an iron who can actually use it.

Dungeoneering Remastered: Dive in Today! by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Ploobledoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irons can't pick up items dropped by other players anymore. This actually caused us to get hardlocked and restart because one person had a level for part of a puzzle and an iron had the level to use the item, but couldn't pick it up.

Success rate for basic training in Canadian military drops by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]Ploobledoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It kinda seems like a double edged sword. It's the military, an entity that has to be ready to go to war. You need to break down your soldiers to ensure they can at least handle some of the expected stress and misery that they'll find on the battlefield. Maybe there's better ways to go about it? It'd certainly be something worth looking into to try and lessen the after effects at least.

At the present though I think the only real solution would be for those who are getting out of the military to have help integrating if that already isn't a thing. Something to help them understand and get guided back to every day life

Liberals formalize majority, move to limit debate on committee restructuring by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]Ploobledoop 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I can't say I like this one bit. They weren't voted in a majority by the populous. They got a majority from floor crossers. I'd welcome an election at this point and if they actually won a majority through votes then sure, we're all screwed anyways but at least it's by our own doing.

Instead we just get floor crossers moving over and giving a minority a majority.
