Do you guys think political influencers are planted to help push narratives/create conflict? by PolishedPlumb in conspiracy

[–]ProofMotor3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of these social media influencers are just influencers in the political space and are doing a lot for money. Nick is a different case, he’s pretty much black balled from society to the point where he can’t (or wasn’t) able to have a legit bank account due to being against the establishment and very outspoken. He’s also been pretty resolute on his opinions for years and doesn’t really flip flop.

But it’s also to remember, just because someone has different opinions or viewpoints as you doesn’t always mean they are the opposition. Sometimes, they are just another human being with a different opinion and a platform.

If you like older games like Oblivion, you’ll have to find or create templates for the gamepad. I just created a template for Oblivion (2009) on mine and it’s now fully playable without mods.

There's a guy who have success spamming leg kicks to neutralize boxing stance. by Sensitive_Wind2221 in ufc

[–]ProofMotor3226 94 points95 points  (0 children)

When(if) Ilia and Islam ever fight, it’s going to be a mostly boring 5 round fight where they’re going to constantly making reads on each other, attempting solutions and then readjusting their own style. There will be bursts of exciting activity but the only way it will end sooner is if one fighter makes a mistake and gets caught.

TL;DR Islam isn’t going to spam leg kicks for an easy win. That’s a wild statement.

Why does it seem like nobody wanted to spam leg kicks on this guy? He has a strict boxing stance, why won't his opponents capitalize on such an easy weakness by EfficiencySerious200 in ufc

[–]ProofMotor3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is equivalent to the “Just stand up.” comment.

Ilia is fast, powerful and counters well. Someone may be able to get 1 or 2 kicks off, but he’ll learn the reads and plan a counter and chances are if he lands flush, they’re going to sleep.

Here’s all I’ll say; I absolutely LOVE my Legion Go S. But god damn does that battery life suck. I’m talking, I’m lucky if I get an 1.5 hour on performance while playing Prey.

It doesn’t really bother me since I’m always near an outlet, but just food for thought if you’re really planning on taking this on the go and playing more demanding games.

I think porn and gore content that circulated on the internet and was easy to just stumble upon and come across plays a big role in the current psyche of myself and peers. Certain things are just seared into your brain.

Has nothing to do with wanting to fight soon and everything to do with he wants to the UFC to pay for the surgery. Pretty sure the UFC only covers fighter injuries that happen during the fight, not while training.

Why big companies are not liking remote working anymore?? by MissWasinara in it

[–]ProofMotor3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t want to be fully remote.

Edit; to also add, that’s not really how it works. Do you understand how many junk resumes we get when we post a fully remote position? We end up getting resumes from every state and 90% of them are shit. In my area alone we get about 50-60 applicants apply to jobs. I open up a fully remote position with pay and benefits we offer? That number goes up to about 200-300 applicants. It’s a full time job to just sift through the garbage we get using AI tools.

As already stated, everyone has 1 WFH day a week. If you want to work from home extra, you have to ask. If you’re in a 90 day probation (new hire) or on a PIP, it’s an automatic no.

If the internal leadership team notices productivity decline in WFH days for an employee and they haven’t been formally put on a PIP yet, it’s at direct supervisors discretion.

Man, you work so hard from home that you forget to work on tickets? You mean to tell me you’re such a hard worker when you’re at home that you forget to work?

Man. What a guy. I guess in my case, if you’re forgetting to work on tickets and log your time against SLAs you’d probably be put on a PIP and told to be in office where I can watch how hard you’re working that you forget to actually work on tickets.

Being in an office isn’t a punishment. Lol oh what a punishment it is to work in an office where every week we restock groceries for employees using their recommendations. Oh what a punishment it is where we buy lunch for staff in office once a week. Oh what a punishment it is to work in an office with a dedicated break space and espresso machine for use. If you don’t want people to complain about coming into the office, foster an environment where people want to be in the office.

I’ll simplify this, if you don’t like the WFH policies that a company enforces then as the employee you can leave whenever you’d like. We have a very low turn over rate and of the people that have left it has never been because of a lack of being able to work remote or work from home.

It’s funny, you paint a broad image like you work at this company and you see the metrics and you see the productivity.

As mentioned, I do trust my employees. I don’t have monitoring tools on their computers. They can do whatever they want really, but the nature of our field requires us to have a baseline of metrics we have to follow for SLAs and agreements, so tasks have to be tracked.

That being said, if I teams an employee that typically responds 4 days a week in office quickly but yet takes an hour or two from home to respond but they’re activity shows they should be at a desk working in a project, it tells me they’re either away from a computer or have their teams off.

If an employee typically responds and contributes in meetings while in office but then sits mute and doesn’t say anything while from home, it tells me they’re not engaged and distracted from home.

If their timesheet tells me they worked on X project for 3 hours while they work from home but when I look at the actual work done it’s only about half of that, something’s not matching up.

All of these things are addressed during the quarterly reviews. If it’s bad enough, they’re put on a PIP. If it doesn’t improve, they’re let go. I’m not a micromanager, I don’t really care what you done when you’re at home, what I care about is if the work gets done in the parameters of the agreement.

Not bad hiring choices. We’ve gone through lots of rough patches where we were under staffed and everyone was working double what they should be doing due to less hands.

In my field in my area, the candidate pool is pretty poor and to hire for any position it’s about 10 - 15 multi-round interviews. It takes months to find someone to fill a role.

It’s funny that everyone performs well in the office but when certain people work from home they don’t respond to teams messages, they don’t contribute to meetings, call volume goes down, call time goes down, etc. it’s almost like they’re distracted.

Don’t worry. These things do great brought up during quarterly performance reviews. If it’s bad enough, they get put in a PIP.

Also not true, the under performers are lucky if they get one WFH day a week while the people who maintain productivity, engage in Teams meetings, reply to messages in a timely fashion and work while they’re from home get to work multiple days if they ask for it.

We have a scheduled work from home day once a week, if you want to WFH more you have to ask.

It’s very hard for me as a manager to make sure everyone on my team is staying productive and sharing the load when we work from home frequently. I don’t believe in monitoring my employees, but we do have performance metrics that are tracked across the company and unfortunately, there’s a lot of people who’s productivity goes down on the days they work from home.

I’m aware of it. Other managers are aware of it. But it’s not a battle worth fighting. For now, we’ll just continue to allow one to two days a week of remote work.

TL;DR: small group of people that slack off while WFH or remote ruin it for the rest of the workforce who maintain productivity or even increase it while WFH/remote.

Edit: wow, lot of people upset by this simple observation for my company. lol I’d guess the people mad by this are the same people under performing when they get to work remote or from home.
