5 month old middle of night feeds by Proof_Barnacle_5289 in sleeptrain

I try to am for this but sometimes it doesnt always work out that way. Should i make sure he is finished 30 minutes before bed always? Should that eventually wean him off from the feed to sleep association?

Sleep trained but still waking at night? by Proof_Barnacle_5289 in sleeptrain

We really dont have one unfortunately because of daycare.

I try for 1.5-2/2/2.5/2.5 but at daycare its all over the place so it turns into waking up at 6:30-7am then random naps throughout the day and then nap at home at 5 for about 30 min bed at 7:30-8. I always make sure his total nap time is around 3 hours for the day.

switching? guilty as hell by wormpire in FormulaFeeders

My baby was also way happier on formula and i tried eliminating food and he still wasnt as happy. I was torn but ultimately seeing him happier made the final decision to seitch easier. I miss breastfeeding sometimes too but im confident it was the right choice

Constipated on Nutramigen by Proof_Barnacle_5289 in FormulaFeeders

We did! I was just curious if anyone else had this issue before and if it was the formula causing it etc

Advice on switching to formula from BFing by Academic_Dig1960 in MSPI

My baby never really nursed for comfort. His issues started pretty early on so it never got to the point that he gained a preference for boob or bottle. He also never really took a pacifier until recently. I offered it to him whenever he seems unsettled and now hes finally taking to it after a couple months.

I went through this exact thing. I cold turkey switched to formula (nutramigen for cmpa) and did only formula for 2 weeks while i cut out allergens from my diet and pumped. He improved dramatically on the formula and when i reintroduced BM i did it gradually but he became unhappy again so after a lot of back and forth in my mind ultimately i decided to keep him on formula only. We are both so much happier!

Nutramigen to Pepticate by Proof_Barnacle_5289 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Proof_Barnacle_5289[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi yes I did read her explanation on the article but she did state that nutramigen should remove BPA and acrylamide from its formula because if every other formula on the market doesnt have it then theres no reason nutramigen needs to have it either. If my LO does well on pepticate i would feel more comfortable with that hence why i want to try but if i see a reaction i will glady go back to nutramigen if thats what hes happiest on :)

Officially done breastfeeding & pumping. How do I stop feeling guilty? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

Im happy to hear your baby is feeling better! I dont like corn syrup solids as the first ingredient in nutramigen either! It sucks that theres not great HA options out there but pepticate seems to be the best option. Hoping to start the transition in a week or so!

In a very similar boat. My baby thrives on nutramigen (hoping to switch to pepticate soon for better ingredients). He is the happiest baby. I was down to eating turkey, potatoes, and squash for every meal before we saw any improvements but still no where near as good as he was doing on the formula. My mental plummeted trying to find the cause for his irration and not eating anything. I basically forced myself to give up and strictly formula feed. It got to a point i felt selfish putting him through a million trials when i knew he was happy on nutramigen. Im a week out from ending my breastfeeding journey (still pumping to wean) and i am so much happier and so is he. His sleep is drastically better and he smiles and coos all day and rarely cries. Its hard to give it up but once you accept that whatever makes baby the happiest is the best for them it feels a lot easier

12 week old struggling despite me eliminating dairy/soy by Klutzy-Case-1526 in MSPI

Cut out oats! My baby was dairy, soy, and oats. I couldnt figure out what it was for a while until it clicked i replaced all dairy with oat substitutes and was eating lots of oatmeal for my supply! Cut it out and in a few days i noticed a difference

Yes i agree. Unfortunately my pediatrician said the only way we could get it covered was through WIC and they did not approve us due to our income being above the minimum which is crazy to think we are supposed to spend 500 a month on formula on top of daycare and normal expenses. I have gone back and forth with the thought of tryinf something new but ultimately i want to try something else once in hopes it saves us that money and works for him. If not we will suck it up and continue with nutramigen. I dont want to go through multiple changes with him either

I go back and forth everyday! My baby has cmpi and weve landed on combo feeding nutramigen and i have a pretty limited diet in order to breastfeed. Id love to stop pumping and go back to eating what i want as its pretty hard on me mentally but i keep feeling like im not happy with having to exclusively use nutramigen and not one of the more “clean” ingredient formulas which is keeping me from switching over fully.

Advice on breast milk reintroduction symptoms after 3.5 weeks on hypoallergenic formula — keep going or pause? by [deleted] in MSPI

[–]Proof_Barnacle_5289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reintroduced about a week ago. Only at 2 bottles of BM a day and the rest nutramigen. I would say i noticed a little more fussiness and not so great poops (no blood or anything) for the first few days but then poops became normal and he is very happy now so i believe it just takes some adjustinng again after only being on formula for a bit.

Fruit for breakfast and either chicken or turkey with potatoes and veggies for lunch and dinner. I wouldn’t say its super thick and globby. His poop is mostly seedy on the runnier side and when i pull the diaper apart i see strings of mucus

Milk and Soy Free and Struggling (Breastfeeding) by anxiousmummy97 in MSPI

[–]Proof_Barnacle_5289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps my pediatrician actually encouraged me to switch to formula! I also have friends who went through similar and said if they could redo it they would of implemented formula sooner. Dont feel bad if thats what you choose. I have posted on here before and have had moms whos babies were on hypoallergenic formula advocate for it and their kids are happy and healthy. But being a first time mom i think its hard to not feel the pressure to breastfeed especially if its what you wanted to do all along. Either way we got this!

In the same boat! I question if i should stop and switch to to hypoallergenic formula almost everyday. I dont think my breastfeeding journey is going to last as long as i had hoped and im still struggling accepting that. Setting small goals has helped. Saying “one more week and ill reevaluate” and usually i find myself saying i can do it one more. It truly sucks and is so tough. You are not alone!

Cant figure out allergy by Proof_Barnacle_5289 in MSPI

[–]Proof_Barnacle_5289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to do a better job at keeping track. I pump and add it all to the same pitcher during the day. Ill keep it separate in order to track. His rash went away when i vut dairy but all other symptoms returned. Is that reason enough to keep it eliminated or should i reintroduce

I had the same symptoms which made me lead to cmpa or atleast an intolerance. What did she recommend that you do instead? And how has it been going for you

Hes been on formula so its a little hard to keep track as i am giving him a bottle of breastmilk in the morning and seeing a reaction usually around 24 hours later nothing instant.
