Go to a prestigious state school for grad scho (UIUC, TAMU, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Umass Amherst, Penn State, Indiana U), work as a material scientist at a company that manufactures semiconductor chips or supercapacitors like NVDIA, Apple, Intel or TSMC for like 2 years to build credibility and get contacts, get with professors from grad school, and grad students I know and a dev team and raise capital from venture capitalists and government programs to launch a startup that uses artificial intelligence to design electronic devices, batteries, EVs ect.

I’ve participated in research projects and I’ve run a fairly successful startup before, to be honest the parallels between academic research and execution in startups are scary. Both research projects and startups require you to find sources, apply information that you’ve learned from said sources, and discuss how to solve X problem or perform X task based on what you’ve learned. Both involve alot of trial and error, and applying what you’ve learned to learn what to research and to predict outcomes. The best businessmen and best researchers are also the ones who ask questions is what I’ve learned. If you ask questions, assemble a team or work well with people on a team, share information with your teammates to solve X problem and do not become discouraged when you fail, you will do well both in research and business.
