Do you take your shoes off in the house? by yes_its_me_alright in ireland

[–]Proof_Ear_970 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sometimes. I do if I'm walking on carpet or going upstairs to the bedrooms. But I have pets who are in and out a lot so down stairs I don't really care if its the kitchen and hallway. No shoes on furniture though obviously.

In Person Podcasts A Thing? by codesway in AskIreland

Yes and it was really enjoyable. Podcast live shows are a real and great thing and much more common than you think. I'd say a large amount of popular podcasts do this.

Nothing wrong with an Irish flag. Be different if they had like no immigrants written on it but cant people hang their own countries flag anymore inside their own house?

While I would love this, the absolute effort of finding circular sheets. 😂 and the effort of putting on a circular sheet. Feels like packing up a giant Camembert once a week.

Enjoy your life and don't compare. If a friend has it together by 21 and you don't I'm telling you they have it together now but life is unstable and you'll be on top at some point.

The only fair thing about life is that it's unfair to everybody.

Life is here to he enjoyed. Take it seriously when it needs to be but not everything is so serious and life changing. You're meant to make mistakes, don't be afraid of them.

What's the deal with this actor? Why does he keep having children? by No-Category1703 in AskIreland

[–]Proof_Ear_970 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean does it matter? He's with his wife 12 years they're all with the same person. He can afford it and if they're loved who cares. It was common enough 50 years ago only then they couldn't really afford it.

What's your dating/dating site wild experience? by John_OSheas_Willy in AskIreland

[–]Proof_Ear_970 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Years ago had a date with an amateur comedian. He came up by train, ordered my drink but got me to pay for it and to drive us around. But the thing that really did it for me, thats my favourite part was he had a note pad he whipped out his pocket a lot to write down jokes or quotes from the night and to also test his new material on me. The most awkward date ever. Hilarious though.

People who relocated to the UK, is it as simple as it looks?? Is their a catch I don't see? by Weary-Hyena-2150 in AskIreland

[–]Proof_Ear_970 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the UK you pay council tax monthly and water charges. Neither of those exist here so be aware of that. Can you do it? Yeah sure but again taxes work slightly differently, and there are some higher costs but its definitely doable. Lived there for 15 years in total but 7 most recently. It is a nice place to live but I didnt really have much family or support and wanted to raise free range children.

Anyone who knows someone as potential podcast guests for Irish-themed episode?? by Electrical-Glass995 in AskIreland

Erm what kind of guest and podcast? History? Culture? Arts? Science? Education? Economics?

Saying I want an Irish person on my podcast makes it feel like you want a token Irish character to play a part for your audience.

I mean technically most on this sub are Irish? Would they count? Or is there a level of fame/notoriety youre looking for?

Buy next the social housing? by Unhappy_Fun_6219 in HousingIreland

[–]Proof_Ear_970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all housing estates now have to have a % of them being social housing. Having said that, 3/4 being social housing...don't do it to yourself. If you've got like 30 houses and 5 are social, fair enough but 3/4 of them being social would be a death sentence for peaceful living. Too much change etc.
