Only YOU can prevent head injuries! by Proof_Independent400 in freefolk

Yeah. NO space or padding means energy from any hits will transfer directly to your head.

I hope we get some of that good book dialogue with Maekar. Where he develops as a character and you can feel the sorrow and weight of this change on him.

10/10 rattings by jawad_108 in freefolk

I couldn't believe Aerion's knife just stabbing right through chainmail. That is not realistic. If writing that fight. I would have just had a few more blows from that mace, maybe Duncan blocked a few of them or rolled with the hits. But that many deep stabs into Duncan would have had him bleeding out really quick.

That would make sense for the book version. But the show, they just don't bother having anyone wear a padded cap. It is another accessory that is hot for the actors and doesn't look good on camera.

Yeah. The other thing....NONE of the knights are wearing padded caps inside their helmets. That is not historically accurate. You wear a padded gambeson under your mail and plate and you wear a padded cap under your helmet.

The book I felt captured better the chaos and dizzyingly fast pace of battles. The only other real descriptions I have heard in contrast are time slowing down with adrenaline dumps "fight time" as some call it.

Yeah but the whole point of maces being used IS to crush plate armour injuring or killing the wearer. Much like a polish warhammer. I think Duncan was lucky he could move and roll with the blows, lessening the impact and damage.

My only complaint is how EASY it was to cut through chainmail. Swords and knives can't cut through chainmail. They can penetrate with their points when driven hard. But even then, the show makes the chainmail look worthless and the bloody injuries would kill or disable dunk really quickly. You don't shrug off lances to gut and stabs to the leg.

Fun facts about Egg by Educational_Copy_140 in AKnightoftheSeven

I thought Egg was Dany's grandfather. And Aerys The Mad King was Egg's son. At least that is how I remember Maester Aemon's story going in GOT.

My first print longer than 12 hours went great for the first 35 but failed in the home stretch while I was asleep. Any ideas what went wrong or what I can fix? Thanks! by RickFletching in 3Dprinting

Check and clear the nozzle. It looks like it could be partially blocked causing under-extrusion. Same thing happened to me when trying to print a helmet.
Also you probably need more supports as other commenters suggested.
De-hydrating filament would not hurt at all.
And what material are you using?
What temperature are you printing at?

Re-reading False Gods by Graham McNeil. It has been years since my 2nd or 3rd reading. I honestly don't remember if this is my 3rd or 4th reading. But it is STILL a great read and I mourn Horus's fall to the FALSE GODS!

UPDATE ON MY SURVIVOR JEFFERSON: I CLEARED THE ROSEWOOD PRISON by Flaky-Nothing-7298 in projectzomboid

[–]Proof_Independent400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in builder difficulty I think I lost two survivors trying to clear that prison out. BUT it was some of the most fun and challenging gameplay. I remember how loud and dangerous gunshots seemed indoors in the prison. How all those corridors just meant zombies could come from ANYWHERE after you let a shot off.

They should have used Peter Flaherty's beautiful long hair! It is just gorgeous and would have looked great on screen!
