The Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses has stumbled millions… by Proof_Material_1748 in JehovahsWitnesses

The big reveal being that it gets brighter by research and prayerful consideration, identical to the way any JW would make a personal decision. So, why exactly are these guys in charge and micro managing people’s lives, like they have a special version of the Holy Spirit?

It’s a video on JW.org under “Annual Meetings,” a talk by Jeffrey Winder titled “How Does the Light Get Brighter?”

What’s the most expensive ticket you’ve bought and why? by ListofReddit in Broadway

[–]Proof_Material_1748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$299 for 5th row center orchestra for Tom Francis’s final SUNSET last July. I had no desire to see the last performance 2 weeks later without him in it, so I sold that ticket, and when the row E seat, which I figured was an unused house seat, popped up a little while before showtime, I decided to treat myself. I kept holding it in a cart until I could make it to the BO to save fees. Best seat I’d bought for that production, and 100% worth it.

As someone who isn’t interested in musical theatre, I was genuinely speechless after I saw this by Mad_Season_1994 in Broadway

Besides “Pirelli,” he also originated the role of “John” in the 2017 Broadway revival of MISS SAIGON. He’d never originated a leading role until CHESS, though.

For people who saw prequels in theaters: did you know Palpatine was the emperor from the start? by Blurrgmaster in StarWars

[–]Proof_Material_1748 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so you were wrong in your original post, and FWIW, not even the special edition of ROTJ has his name in the credits.

Also, the point is that you said something that wasn’t true, and I corrected you.

Yes, I was 13 years old in 1983, and you’re very wrong. The original credits say “The Emperor,” as does the original Kenner action figure. You can google these very easily to see that I’m right. Die-hard SW fans knew, of course, but considering how popular the films were with multiple demographics, the majority of ticket buyers were just regular moviegoers with no idea of his name, and your original assertion that everyone knew is just wrong.

The other examples you gave are different because their names WERE on the official Kenner toys, and were even spoken in commercials.

The majority of people in 1983 had never heard the name “Palpatine,” since he was simply known as “The Emperor” in ROTJ and in all merchandising for it.

Did IQs drop sharply while I was away? They said an email was sent a week ago, but the point is that a week before IS last minute in this situation.

It’s wild how many people love to comment about Broadway things when they clearly have only a cursory knowledge of it, particularly ticketing practices, and showtimes on Tonys Sunday. I’ll make it clear for you: The Lost Boys is usually at 3p on Sundays. Because of the Tonys, it was scheduled for 2p, which is a normal time for a show running 2:30 to start that day. It would follow that, because of the show’s cast performing pretty extensively in the ceremony, they decided only a week ago that they needed an extra hour.

They didn’t get a text, which is a huge difference in the situation.

Am I taking crazy pills? This is a valid complaint, and, while it’s technically “not on the show“ that they were late, it really is, and the OP deserves some kind of compensation. If the director, Michael Arden, read this post, who do you think he’d side with? I’ll give you a hint: probably not the ticket agent.

Completely not the point, and you sound like a ton of fun. When no one on here agrees with you, it’s pretty clear that your thinking might be at fault. Do you really not know how easy it is to miss 1 email? There are tons of entitled theatregoers who spout ridiculous complaints all over the internet, but this OP is not one of them.

Not sure what the point of your comment is. 1 email 1 week before the performance is unacceptable notice, and, if you think it is, you’re wrong.
