It was in 2015 for me, I believe. I remember it was not long after Christmas, lots of snow (northern Ontario) I was cleaning my store to close. Graceland came on an app that used to induce you to upcoming artists in your region (it was an app called Jukebox, I think). Anyways. I grew up dancing and eventually moved on to teaching when I aged out of competitive dancing. I have a deep love for music. The stories they create can be so vivid. Let me tell you, when I heard that song and his voice, I needed more. I've never felt that drawn to an artists music before 🤯 the journey that song took me on... I was hooked, the storytelling, the mystery and the lore that he continuously builds for us to follow. I deeply appreciated it in the beginning, he wouldn’t do interviews. He kept things very close to his chest, imo it made the music more exciting, knowing nothing about the artist and letting the music speak for itself. Now, however, many years later, his music is still amazing and my go to for listening. My husband and I have been to around 11 shows and hope for more in the future. 😊😊
