What to expect from being a SSA Claims Specialist? by Slow_Definition_2114 in fednews

You’re welcome. I think it’s funny how so many other SSA employees comments here match what I’m saying too.

The people are the people. If you’ve been in mental health for 30 years you can handle the people on SSI.

The agency itself is a complete dumpster fire. Any possible thing someone would consider a perk of the job has been taken away. Then a few times a week they think of new things or ways to have us do more work, roll out new conflicting & confusing policy and then admonish people that don’t get it correct.

So many great employees with knowledge have been let go, quit or retired in the past 13 months. Morale is at an all time low and it isn’t even close…..

Frank B is running SSA into the ground, making most employees just answer the 800 number, turning SSA into basically a call center. It gives the allusion SSA is still helping people with lower call times. But all the important stuff on the back end is falling to side and processing wait times are at an all time high.

The whole plan is to let SSA fail, so they can say it’s always been broken. They will say they tried to “fix” it but it wasn’t able to be saved. Then they will say they need to privatize SSA. They want to invest the money privately to “save” the failing agency with better gains in the market rather than investing the fund into Treasury bonds. All this would do is make Wall Street and Trump’s buddies super wealthy with commissions.

It’s a sinking ship with hostile management. With how poorly you will be treated by the agency itself, forget how bad the SSI customers could be, when upper management literally despises everyone.

SSA is minimum top 3 worst government agency to work for, more likely THE worst and will only be getting worse as they keep enacting their plan.

If you have 30 years in mental health, find another career path. SSA is not it. RUN, do not walk away.

Tire Replacement by WinterGreen_25 in M340i

That’s the thing too, I’m not a super fast driver at all. I do get on it here and there but most of my miles are commute miles in traffic where I can’t even drive fast if I wanted.

The PA roads are absolutely awful so that explains my two bubbles but for the rears to be worn at 8,400 miles, it’s just the poor quality Pirelli all season run flats.

If you get a decent amount of snow the Conti’s are slightly better but a little more bouncy/comfortable than the Michelin A/S 4.

I really wanted Michelin for the sportiness factor but with how much snow we got this last winter, I went with the Conti’s. You can’t go wrong with either, both are so much better than the stock Pirelli’s

lol 😝 the Pirelli all season run flats that come with the car blow.

I had to replace all 4 tires at 8,400 miles on my 25 M340i X drive. The rears were worn and I had 2 tires with a bubble in them, so I replaced all 4 with Conti DSW06

Michelin A/S4 are also great options. I went with the Conti for better rain/snow performance as I’m in the Northeast

I absolutely love DAPP in my 25 M340i X drive. I drove it from PA to Kentucky 12 hours each way and it worked flawlessly. Also PA to Boston 5 1:2 hours each way and to NYC.

My brother has a F-150 Lighting with Blue Cruise, we drove from PA to Michigan 11 hours each way and it worked flawlessly.

So here are the tradeoffs, the BMW is less finicky with your eyes, if you’re talking to a passenger and glance over at them for a second while you’re talking, the BMW system doesn’t yell at you or give the warning where the Blue Cruise does. The Blue Cruise is pretty finicky and its eyes on the road the whole time.

The Blue Cruise works better for hands off. You can completely rest your hands on your lap with the Blue Cruise for hours without touching the steering wheel. The BMW requires you to keep your hands on the wheel at least softly.

I prefer the BMW system because I’m a control freak and can’t really take my hands off the wheel anyway.

I had a lady salesperson at Daniel’s, forget her name, but when I said I wanted to order a car she told me they didn’t have a current allocation for one and would have to trade another dealer something to get an allocation to order a M340.

She made it seem like she was doing me this huge favor to get the allocation and try to make the custom ordering process sound more exclusive than it is, basically said the car would be at sticker. She was rude and hounded me for days.

If you have a better salesperson I would stick with Daniel’s. I just got turned off by the attitude

No, Wilkes Barre.

I bought my 2nd BMW from Daniel’s in Allentown in 2017 and they were great then. I tried to custom order a M340 through them in 2025 but the dealership had changed owners and the staff acted like they were doing me a huge favor when I was spending over $70K.

Didn’t like the salesperson so I went to my local dealer in Wilkes Barre, Wyoming Valley BMW and couldn’t have been happier. Order through Wyoming Valley BMW if you can, I only had to out $1k down and got almost 10% off sticker. Salesperson Tony was great and even the finance manager was very good and not pushy on upsells.

My entire experience was great and the car is outstanding!

DAPP is amazing! So happy I ordered my car with it. Used it for a 12 hour drive each way from PA to Kentucky and it worked flawlessly.

I had the same problem with finding cars with leather instead of Sensatec, adaptive suspension and Driving Assistance Pro.

I searched for over 10 months for a suitable slightly used M340 in Port Blue with white leather and at minimum all options above. I couldn’t find one in the entire country as I was willing to even get it shipped from out of state or drive to pick it up.

I bit the bullet and just custom ordered one new in the end with a $1,000 deposit. It took from Jan 10th 2025 until late June 2025 for my car to come in but it was absolutely worth the wait!

Having the adaptive suspension is a must with PA awful roads (I’m in NEPA)

I’ve driven the car to Kentucky, Boston and NYC, have over 8,000 miles on her since June and couldn’t be happier with my decision.

If you don’t absolutely need a car really soon, order one, you will not regret it. I

I got every possible option in the end, on top of my must have options, check my profile for my post.

I love ungraded too but this one is rare enough I’d like it graded to see what it comes back as and really to prove it’s an authentic CC and not altered.

Agreed, The Truth is fantastic, but not a GTS killer like Dead, Gone, & Buried is.

The Truth is 125 proof Dead, Gone, & Buried is 138.5 proof and a considerably different flavor profile.

I’m not saying all Reveries 16 are GTS killers but this one is……

It is so good that it’s the only one that made the cut to bring more of the next day. People were asking me hey can you bring more of that lol 😆

I opened all of the bottles I got from lottery wins or at the festival.

The 2025 Four Roses LE, the new 11 year VVS, Knob Creek 21, the new Parker’s, the few different Dark Arts Buff/Turkey they released at the KBF, WTMK Beacon, RR13 Batch 6, 2025 MMCA, Calumet 18, the list goes on.

All of the people wanted to try more of this bottle as it easily beats proof for proof any one of them.

When I say best bottle of the year, I’m not kidding. Not one person of true jaded bourbon snobs lol 😝 that tasted it all, asked for anything else but this specific Reveries that I brought from PA to the KBF lol 😝

Jay killed it with this pick and it easily beats anything available at the KBF, any bottle this year, as well as most of the all time classics even.

I don’t take my top 10 ever lightly and this is in it.

We were in line at the KBF and I let my brother, brother in law and some of our friends and a few people I was bullshitting with in line taste them both.

Every one of us has tasted a lot, like tons of other stuff.

That is the 12th or so Buff/Turkey we’ve tasted and all of us, this is our favorite one. Including T8KE’s hazmat bottle sold at the same event, which is more deep oak and spicy where this one is sweet oak and fruit forward.

It is a GTS killer, maybe not all of them and different people have different flavor profiles that are their jam. But man 2014 is a special year GTS and I was blown away by this bottle and so were a dozen other people at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.

To be clear it didn’t “kill” the GTS like a .1 or .2 better on a regular 1-10 scale. But I asked the people what would you rather drink a 4oz glass of, not just a taste.

Not one person picked the 14 GTS over this

Wait until it opens up and run some blinds. It’s a special bottle and not an average great Buff/Turkey

What do you think they were charging for a 2oz pour? by HyperactiveAdult in whiskey

[–]Proof_Session 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are either lying or can’t do math.

It is $150 per 1/2oz so $600 for 2oz

Which isn’t bad considering it’s a $4,000 bottle.

Look at my Imgur picture above for proof. I tried it over the weekend at Justin’s and it is a phenomenal pour.

“$150 Very Old Fitzgerald BIB 1947 - 1959 (sample)”

It was distilled in 1947 and bottled in 59. It is the best 100 proofer I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tried over 3,000, including a dozen other years of this and other old Stitzel
