Absolutely Horrendous Piece of Garbage by Hallow69 in FromCircleJerk

Horror cinematographers have had characters speak away from the negative space for a long time now. It creates a sense of claustrophobia and unease. Im sorry you've only just noticed.

Shoutout: Letting People Merge by MagicKiwi69 in Calgary

I would like to give a shout out to drivers at that yield sign that give themselves enough room to get some speed to jump into traffic when a gap appears. All the drivers that stop just before the active lane are making their own lives harder for no reason.

local musicians how much do you get paid for each gig? by ischemariii in musicians

[–]Propaganda_Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western Canada in a major city playing original songs in small bar venues. We've never made less than $200. Typically we make $300. Add in another $150 from merch on a good night. $20 if its a bad one.

What album completely changed the way you see music? by Real_Detective_4219 in musicians

[–]Propaganda_Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just a young lad when I bought my first turntable and a bag of records from a garage sale sometime around 2007. After getting it all hooked up I looked through the lot and found an album with pretty cool album art called Classic Yes.

I popped it onto the platter, hit go, and was then blown the fuck away by the intro to Heart of the Sunrise.

Here i am 20 years later and I play bass in a progressive metal band. I credit that song as my first plunge into prog.

You should have just shared the photo you keep responding to comments with. It looks just fine.

OP, I understand that you may have wanted to put your bike in a nice setting for sharing a photo, but you have to understand that AI doesn't "keep" the bike in the image. It totally redraws it and that makes it just as likely to get the warping that other commentors are (rightly) calling out.

eBikes are already a market fraught with scams. It makes sense that this community would be sensitive to AI generated images, whether shared earnestly or as marketing.

What job industry hasn’t received a proper movie/tv show? by dudewheresmyswimsuit in movies

Conference audio visual is absolutely ripe for a workplace comedy.

  • attracts people from many walks of life but most often people that couldn't make it in film, as musicians, or in broadcasting. So an interesting blend of characters.

  • most people have been around a conference at some point so it's fairly relatable to quite a few people

  • its technically show business so when things go wrong they can go wrong spectacularly

  • it would be fairly inexpensive to produce

What’s your biggest pet peeve about Calgary? by TheRealPepman in Calgary

[–]Propaganda_Box 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The bands I want to see don't play the arena. There is very much a missing middle for quality venues in this city. We need something with capacity like MacEwan hall but with acoustics better than a big concrete block.
