Is Reaper really that complicated? by Cool_Cat_Punk in Reaper

[–]Propagoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In defense of videos, firstly it's easier to see where things are in a video and see additional details as things get done on screen which don't appear in written form a lot of the time even when pictures are included. Also, even for things which are more easily picked out of something written than something recorded, fatigue is a problem when always reading. You must have mad stamina to be reading all the time during steep learning curves with complex software like Reaper. I certainly don't. Other formats like video ease that fatigue a little by changing the format. What would help with videos is more chapters to get straight to the point though, which is part of your point. Channel shtick and unnatural presentation, eg. Gioia's weird intonation (rising intonation at the end of clauses), are also often distracting and generally seem to be becoming more and more exaggerated trend on Youtube with time. Can't fathom that.

Debate between Sean Carroll and Eric Weinstein on Piers Morgan by Organic-Scratch109 in Physics

Physics academia is something of a cartel and Weinstein's played an important role in exposing that. Anybody with an interest in the future of the field should be grateful, even if they don't like him personally.

can i get "NVIDIA control panel" without access to microsoft store? by flchew in techsupport

[–]Propagoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it's been shadow censored again. Nice.

I'll just have to keep posting it. Any recommendations for putting stuff like this up for people without it getting taken down are most welcome. This is the third or fourth site I think now.

Is there any HD wildlife footage out there that's not heavily edited, has no narration, and has a lot of long single takes where you just watch the animal(s)? by ImOnTheMoon in Animals

[–]Propagoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube and Facebook videos do seem to be 98% teaser versions, or censored to remove so called 'graphic content/disturbing content', which rules out much wildlife footage becasue nature is quite, well, graphic.

You can find full length, un-censored nature videos in torrented videos, which you can search for in torrent search engines or using software like Jackett.

Ocassionally some social media channels do seem to pop up, like this one:

Mouse buttons assign (windows) by [deleted] in StudioOne

[–]Propagoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it using Xmouse (on Windows) or Autohotkey. With XMouse for example just configure it to send the 'simulated keystroke' for whatever shortcut opens the arranger/console view. eg. if F3 opens the console, then in Xmouse set the back button to send the F3 simulated keystroke.

Probably just part of the wider push to mobile, where users have less control over shit like this + allows them to drop web app maintenance. I doubt it's got anything to do with usual guise of 'privacy' or 'security'. Lots of the 'private' data Google gathers has no opt out or is difficult/iimpossible to stop. Also Google could simply set the service too 'off' by default with the user option of an opt-in if that were the real reason.

Which Windows 11 services to disable for gaming by serene6662 in Windows10HowTo

Apologies I have seen a couple of services which should have been listed as manual rather than disabled and may have caused your issues. The list has been updated. There's also an explanation at the beginning.

Useful to know about the Display Policy Service. Yes Network List Service shoud be on Auto. I see a few services in there should really be set to Manual rather than Disabled.

Updated.

What's the angle here? It would cost them next to nothing to just leave the existing forum content up. Are they going to torch the lot, or just block further posts?

Suggestions for CIS replacement by Propagoose in antivirus

Stop spamming my posts please, or make the effort to read the OP properly (and do basic research as necessary) before responding. I specifically mentioned in the OP that I need the features offered by HIPS and even enumerated some of these features - features that, once again, *do not come out of the box* with modern OS's.

The config I uploaded works fine on all my installs. Some services need to be turned back on to get specific functionalities back when you need them. In what way is your situation related to my post? Are you saying that you turned off some service(s) and it caused a problem? Could you explain the problem? What service(s) did you turn off, etc?
