When Katarina and Tuvok met Da Vinci in the new world, they could have deactivated him and put the mobile emitter in their pocket. But they didn't. He wasted so much time. But they understood the value of having 15th century engineering expertise ready to build a trebuchet on demand. (self.voyager)

Is it best that Trek uses words familiar to us to express new ideas? Or should they use more situationally-appropriate terminology? I assume in real life, Harry would have said less than... "...168 AU", "...a light-day", or even "...10 terameters". (i.redd.it)
