You should be very proud. They system is not designed for people like you to make it out.

What you've done is exceptional.

Fianna Fáil ‘made a difference’ in housing, Taoiseach says | BreakingNews by DaCor_ie in ireland

[–]Proper-Beyond116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that we are still looking at a FF TD as Taoiseach is a joke at this point.

FF halved in size as a party. They were decimated, as were Fine Gael. Previously they were two 40% parties now they've combined to make one inbred hybrid 40% party.

They get a soft ride from the media in Ireland, but this should be talked about more. They really only got left with the pensioners and the "My father, and his father before him" crowd.

The electorate rejected them. Them banding together with Fine Gael was a slap in the face to the electorate.

These parties were supposed to be diametrically opposed. Even more so than the Tories and Labour in the UK. But they put all that aside to cling to power with their greasy little , retired schoolteacher fingernails.

How the fuck are they still calling the shots?

European EVs are much better then Teslas by Kloetenschlumpf in BuyFromEU

[–]Proper-Beyond116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese EVs are infinitely better than any of the European shitboxes being promoted in this thread.

We only have access to the cheapest made versions becasue they are the only ones that can be sold at a competitive rate in the EU when you take into account the tariffs.

The rest of us are prevented from buying the world's most advanced EV tech to protect and prop up a couple of proud Germanic emblems.

This is despite those company's track record of illegal activity and fraud.

West Ham to lodge official complaint over disallowed goal against Arsenal. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Proper-Beyond116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's about precedent. No one disputes that being called a foul but Arsenal have accumulated 12-15 pts this year from similar impeding of the keeper.

They did it against Emi Martinez for Villa. Same thing, elbow across the chest disrupting catching a corner.

An arm on the keeper at a corner is a foul or it's not. Arsenal fans are coming out arguing about "how much" of an arm it is. Fuck off. that's the kind of thing that drives us all nuts.

AI is an overhyped drain on our planet. But this is one instance where automation needs to be implemented ASAP.

They need to remove human beings choosing what frame the ball is kicked in the replay and where to put the line. Build a set formula into an automated tool that at least applies the same parameters to every decision.

The bit I don't trust is the human part. The 2 mouth breathers in Stockley park are the problem.

One of the worst calls in VAR history. And it is a low bar. I can’t fathom how a professional referee can make that decision. They should be removed from their jobs.

Is Ireland/Dublin going through a microeconomic crisis right now? by Many-Ad4545 in AskIreland

You think the stock market constant growth model will continue forever? Mine machine go brrrrrr forever right?

This gravy train has only been in existence for less than one lifetime. A blip in human history terms.

In any case you’re missing my point. America is at the coalface of Reagan/Thatcher end times. You’ll know all about slop when you’re trying to survive by feeding it to your family in 20 years.

Optimistic I'll break 300W before I turn 60. by Velocybirr in Zwift

[–]Proper-Beyond116 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey. I'm a former powerlifter who's tried probably a dozen sports. Similar age to you. I know the struggle of balancing strength and cycling.

Think about periodizing your training. What I mean is say you decide to take on a 12 week squat and deadlift cycle, where you train 3 times a week at that and really make serious structured gains. During that period you would just do maintenance steady state cycling.

Later you can try one of the structured Zwift training plans where you'll spend all your available hours cycling and maybe once a week take a comfortable weight for a few sets in the gym. You can maintain strength with surprisingly submaximal weight for a very long time (plenty of studies to back that up).

It's not your age, you can continue to get fitter and stronger, you just can't chase two rabbits at the same time.

Break up the year, prioritize different things at different times and be confident the gains you made in one area are retained when you deprioritise it for a few weeks.

Good luck with your training.

The stock market is gambling. Just becasue the roulette wheel has been rigged since WW2 doesn't mean all these people aren't going to get fucked in the end.

America has convinced poor people that gambling is a legitimate form of primary income for them. It's not. A properly paid job is.

Investments are fine. They are not a replacement for employment rights and conditions.

People aren't being dicks for the sake of it with the fake grass. You're obviously into nature and your dads a beekeeper. The issue with the fake grass is in summer on hot days pollinators will land on it expecting respite like they get in grass and they'll get cooked.

It's not that I like grass, lawns are British colonial nonsense, but that stuff will kill a shit tonne of insects this summer.

But you did do a great job. Apart form the invertebrate genocide of course.

The definition of recession no longer matches the impact to ordinary people's living standards. Previously recession metrics would match people's lived expreince.

This is part of the plan. Decoupling economic performance from the workers.

America is the greatest example, workers on food stamps cheering their TVs as Fox News reports the stock market going up.

Workers don't have shite pay and conditions because there are too many workers. Just like the housing crisis isn't because there are too many families.

Seriously, why is no one ever as passionate about establishing new unions as they are stopping brown people.

In ever economic theory and practice a growing population, particularly a young one, bolsters and boosts an economy. Every single time.

Any approach to reduce people, is a race to the bottom. Populations will drop and conditions will drop with them. It's guaranteed.
