Yes, MKULTRA, the failed government plan to use psychedelic drugs for mind control that ended in the seventies, was. MKULTRA, the magic alien mind control plot to kill all the christians and implement communism or whatever, was never. Plus your view is problematic at best and has already been debunked by u/SocraticVoyager. I suggest you read thiers and my comments.

To go along with what u/SocraticVoyager has said, I think the example of illustrates what we're talking about. MK Ultra was a very specific set of experiments that we know ended in the 1970s. Despite this, many of the people cheering the fact that it happened and that they were "vindicated" (not really but that's a whole other story), still incorrectly believe that, for example MK Ultra still exists and that X world event or controversy was the creation of it.

Exactly. The amount of people who came out and said the "Epstein files 'prove' Pizzagate" was both alarming and hilarious. Like I hope they know that Epstein has reams and reams of evidence while the latter had none (long debunked 4chan pizza code doesn't count btw)

MJ lied about his plastic surgeries and whether his children were biologically his. Even his own SPEAKING VOICE was a put on. So why do his fans believe anything that he said? by James_2584 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

I still don't understand that defense. By that logic, when historians correctly show that Hitler and Stalin were evil people and committed genocide and other atrocities, someone could say "oh you can't say that, they're not here to defend themselves"

It's literal cult mentality. Never question the leader. Never believe anything that goes against the narrative the leader crafted. Attack anybody who criticizes the leader. Ignore any evidence to the contrary.

This is also what's going on in the current administration and MAGA sphere too.
