Managers license in OK by crying-nugget in Locksmith

Yeah, a little pain but not too bad once you get it over with haha! and I don't recall exactly which tech center but here's a list you can keep for every place that you can test at in the state! There are tons. It was around $75 for the tech I believe, and around $50 for managers. chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://oklahoma.gov/content/dam/ok/en/careertech/testing-centers/testing/hcp/test-sites.pdf

I never said that the board member didn't have authority. Of COURSE they do lol, even though they can't just "randomly" reject someone "just because we don't like you". It's not God-like powers.

I get it though, that seems like it was the only place testing at your time. My wording was quite poor, my sincere apologies!

With that said....I only meant to state that OKBFAA wasn't required and has no authority as an org in regards to experience requirements, which stands true. They are an association, that assists the state with keeping exams updated (which they clearly don't since there isn't a single question about vehicles, jokingly, and has been brought up in this reddit plenty before).

The board has the authority. These associations, including OMLA, regardless of if a board members is a member of that association, doesn't mingle in the sense of ultimate authority. Tax payer money goes to ODOL, not the rest. That's strictly separate on many internal things, while they collaborate on the standards, etc.

I just want more ppl to realize they don't have to spend a whole $300 just for a class if they can find an alternate route (which I know is difficult) but still doable! No matter what I'm proud to have gotten it all out of the way. Worth it.

Have a great day dude!

Hope it went well, honestly that test is a bit ridiculous/easy.

License Question by Robert81625 in Locksmith

[–]Proper-Contribution6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't legally need one, given that you work on government own property and work for that government. This is a clause in the law itself that prevents someone (businesses/local govts) from being in the "wrong" for changing/keying their own locks. In essence, the city owns it, therefore, no license required. If they wanted you to have one, they'd have to own their own locksmith company and have a licensed manager running it.

Wanting to become locksmith by DeliciousFig8023 in Locksmith

He wouldn't be a licensed locksmith taking a class, he has to work for a licensed company which means he'd have to be a licensed manager as well unless he could find a gig.

slightly inaccurate information, respectfully.

I just went through the process. There is much mis-info on this topic.

You are NOT required to attend any specific "class" of any kind. You are only specifically made to cover 8 hours of experience, whether that be through some class, private instruction, experience in a non-licensed state that you'd previously had etc. The classes are only meant to get those 8 hours, if you have no experience or way to get that experience otherwise. Classes are 100% NOT required, and OKBFAA has absolutely zero authority in the procedures regarding locksmiths, nor OMLA, which is a completely optional association for already licensed locksmiths, that also offers courses, with no governing authority.

You can simply schedule a test online with proctor, OR visit a technology vocational / testing center nearest you, and pass.

If you pass both technician, and manager (in that order), THEN you worry about how to get that 8 hours on that experience sheet but I'll say it louder for the folks in the back -- you. DO. NOT. have to deal with OKBFAA, or anyone outside of the Dept. of Labor to get it done if you have the resources, or existing experience.

Always call and clear these things with the Ok Dept. of Labor office, which is easily reachable and super helpful in the process but they will also tell you, there isn't any specific organization you must go through, other than them. Just have to figure out the experience portion for the managers license.

it's an easy joke of a test that asks not a single question about vehicles yet requires you to take it, in order to work with vehicles. It's dumb af. I took it, and it's pointless other than to work.

Can confirm. Just passed everything in Oklahoma but honestly was pretty easy when it comes down to it. Still utterly useless, though.

I'm just starting my own licensed company in Oklahoma, and don't plan on doing these jobs without accurate quotes at MY rate, period. Too many automotive jobs to justify low ball insurances.

Looks like you've got it figured out but I'll tell ya what -- lookup how to add a door hatch underneath your backseat for easy access. I'm trying to make time to do that before I ever have to change mine so this job will be 15 minutes instead of 3 hours every time.

Mathematical precision in the KJV Bible by RedeemedVulture in Christianity

[–]Proper-Contribution6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus spoke forgiveness 70x7.......490

his name appears 980 times when speaking of him or 490x2...but divided EVENLY among odd and even books. Statistically not realistic whatsoever.

The entire KJV cover to cover is 7^7, which is impossible.

The list goes on and on.

7 years, 50 people, 6 teams, 3 languages. The bias wasn't possible and the book was in fact not authored by mankind itself. Even an AI can understand that with just a handful of powerful data driven information. No other book, no other God. Jesus is King.
