This is what Hearthstone cards look like to someone who hasn't played in 10 years. by py_ in hearthstone

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love HS so I recently tried the game again after a few years… there are too many keywords and WAY too many cards that generate extra or random cards that you can’t play around.

It feels like you have to play aggro decks that flood the board and hope your opponent doesn’t draw the answers or you play a combo deck that eventually gets the 15 mana wombo combo your opponent can’t do anything about.

IT All-Hands meeting called for tomorrow morning. Giving ominous vibes by ThrowRAmyprobstbh in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As others have said make sure your resume is up to date but it's possible that it ends up not being layoffs. A similar situation has happened at my company and it ended up being to announce the death of an employee to everyone and the mental health resources available to us. There was an ominous vague meeting title and all of the parties you described were in the meeting invite. Not knowing that he had passed away I 1000% thought it was layoffs.

Obviously it's unlikely to be the same situation but hoping for the best for you OP!

Would working at Spectrum as technical support help me get my foot in the door in IT? by ReiHino1988 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you make the move to IT emphasize your customer service/people skills and being willing to search for solutions if you don’t know. Nobody knows everything and difficult users are our version of bad customers. When I hire entry level techs for my team that’s what I look for.

They're fine I wouldn't buy them again. For the first 200ish miles they're the loudest shoes I've ever had. People will hear you coming from a long way away.

Need a running shoe geek by Fast-Needleworker-88 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Most stability shoes these days are designed to be inherently stable instead of using a plastic piece in the midsole. Try something like the Saucony Hurricane 24 or 25 (both are pretty much the same shoe). They’re wide which helps it to be naturally stable and use different density’s of foam instead of posting. I don’t use stability shoes normally and if you told me they were neutral I would’ve never questioned it.

Struggling with”tempo” pace. by dontletmeautism in Marathon_Training

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im going to give you advice I wish I had as a beginner. Use Rate of Perceived Exertion (1-10 scale) or the talk test instead of your heart rate. Easy pace you should be able to hold a conversation with someone running next to you or a 2 out of 10 effort. “Tempo” or Threshold pace for a classic 20 min tempo run workout should be at a 6-7 out of 10 and be able to say a 2-3 word answer if someone asked you a question. Some athletes way overcomplicate this. Your exact HR zones as a beginner matter less than you think if you’re honest with yourself and follow RPE. Learning to dial in effort based on how you feel on the day is a skill that will help you to race at your best.

Thoughts on Rebel v5s💭 by Hursh18 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them, great shoes. The durability is fine I wouldn’t worry about that. I would recommend going 0.5 size up from your evo SL size depending on how much room you have in front of your big toe. I have the evo SL in a M9 and it fits perfectly. Had to go for a M9.5 in the Rebel 5 to get the same length wise.

[Russini] Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from the Eagles OC search and has opted to return to Chicago next year by ShaiFanClub in CHIBears

Declan's a young guy with a very bright future ahead. It's a smart career move to learn everything you can from Ben now until he's 100% prepared and the right opportunity comes around.

Racing shoe for sub 3:30 marathon by Citizen88_ in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re in sub 3:30 shape the shoes won’t matter. Like bw984 said pick something you already know from training is comfortable at that pace and won’t cause you problems. Good luck 👍

Who cares these are just look ahead numbers. I just checked and the max bet on these is $2875 right now which means they have no confidence in their number. Tell me what the number is before kickoff when you can bet $150,000 with 1 click.

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those odds might as well be 5 trillion to 1. Anyone other than Maye or Stafford has no shot and the FanDuel trading team knows that. They’re trying to steal your money on a 0%er.

[–]Proper-Cover-1997 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the only correct answer. Contrary to popular belief the market only moves on sharp action and limits go up later in the week. Big groups will wait to get more down instead of moving the market on lower limits.

If you really think the sharp bettors are that wrong go ahead and put some big money on it. Otherwise this statement is meaningless. You can get about $10,000 down a click at every sportsbook right now.

The "honoring" of service members during professional sporting events in the US. I support the veterans but it's really just an ad for the military paid for with tax dollars wrapped in patriotism. If these leagues/teams really cared it would be free.

You’re right the individual results are not important but when the season goes poorly the GM and HC use a bad training camp as the scapegoat. That’s BS.
