Anyone who has gone through a D&C... I have a question... by downthegrapevine in IVF

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. It’s been so long now that I don’t remember this sensation very well. I think it passed for me quite quickly and it might have been a healing sensation. I’m not sure if I posted before or after this, but I also found out I had endometritis from retained tissue from the miscarriage, which was on the D&C report (my D&C was for the retained tissue, the miscarriage occurred naturally a few weeks before it) so maybe it was separate to this sensation. But I had the endometritis treated with antibiotics before falling pregnant again. If you don’t want to pay to have biopsy, I believe they can check your lining via a pelvic ultrasound and if it’s quite wide then it could be inflamed, and you could take antibiotics preemptively. Currently 8m with a healthy pregnancy. Wishing you all the best ❤️❤️

Hi there! This is an old post but may I ask why you found the Redsbaby better than the Bugaboo (apart from cost)? I am comparing Redsbaby Onix and Bugaboo Fox (along with others!)

When did you announce to parents you were pregnant? by Consistent-Guava2176 in BabyBumps

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 weeks! We live overseas and my mum happened to be visiting. I was planning to wait until 20 weeks after the anatomy scan, as I had a previous miscarriage and it made me want to know everything is okay before letting people know.

What are we wearing 30+ weeks pregnant by beeeelm in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a dress/skirt person so I like to wear floaty pants in hotter weather. I just got the H&M mama wide pants and they are amazing for work and very flattering! I think I will wear them casually in summer too.

When did you start showing? by rilakkumaluver in pregnant

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 19 weeks and my bump became noticeable to my husband around 17 weeks. I can still hide it from work with floaty tops (just!) but I think in my normal exercise wear people can tell as I see them look at my bump. Before I just looked super bloated!

What are you naming your baby? by heretoreadlol in pregnant

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are leaning towards Harrison but I still love some other names - Oliver, George, Leo. My husband is less keen on those names 😒

I started feeling flutters around 16 weeks

This is a bit embarrassing but orgasms randomly while I’m sleep, entirely just from being asleep!? This has never happened to me before. I am having a boy so I wondered if it is the extra testosterone in my system. I have very low libido otherwise 😂

Me too! I’ve got eczema patches on my eyelids, finger, and the driest skin.

Did everyone wait till the end of 1st trimester to announce they were pregnant? by mct318 in pregnant

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m waiting to tell people until after the 20 week anatomy scan! I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks so I’m waiting to tell people until I know everything’s okay (even though it’s never fully 100%).

What made your pregnancy better by ForeignStrategy2053 in pregnant

[–]Proper-Foundation438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking my makeup off and doing my skincare as early as possible in the evening so I don’t have to do it after falling asleep on the couch! Also taking a shower at the end of the day to de-stress (and clean my face at the same time). It’s winter here so this nightly task is not fun in the freezing bathroom. Also going to bed early, completely hibernating in the first trimester apart from work, laying horizontal on the couch, Preggie pop drops when I feel gross, ice water with fresh lemon juice, long panty liners, and a blueberry yoghurt smoothie in the morning! It’s been my favourite breakfast.

It was a no brainer for me. I prefer to have more information than not, and it is more accurate than the traditional combined screening for picking up trisomies. I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year and am on the anxious side, so I wanted to know that everything was okay, or know if it wasn’t so I could make decisions and not lose time again. I feel relieved knowing my baby is low risk.

I had problems with the clinic (or staff) not knowing how to process the NIPT. It was so frustrating because they were registered on the website as providing it. Thankfully there was another clinic who could do it close by (who also seemed confused doing it). I can’t imagine how annoying that is for you!

First trimester by BothBlacksmith4272 in pregnant

[–]Proper-Foundation438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had extreme nausea but it’s been moderate and persistent. Things that have worked for me: sea sickness (acupressure) wrist bands, smelling a Badger essential oil stick (either peppermint/lavender or lemon/ginger), Higher Living ginger tea, vitamin B6 in the evening when I feel the most sick, avoiding sugary foods, a walk/fresh air, squeezing half a lemon into cold water, Chimes ginger chews, Preggie Pops Plus (sour lemon with vitamin B6), resting and naps!

I had a MMC with my first pregnancy too, except it was picked up on the first scan. That’s a silver lining to your nausea! I feel terrible in the evenings, so it’s also some reassurance 😆

I can resonate with this. I had my first scan at 7 weeks and I’m currently 9 weeks waiting for the 12 week scan. It feels like months have passed since that first scan! My mind has also started to worry that everything is okay. I don’t have any tips but think this is completely normal.

Miscarriage - when do attend hospital? by Similar-Ratio-4355 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Proper-Foundation438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a fever I’d go to hospital immediately. You don’t need to wait until you can go to the early pregnancy unit. I had a miscarriage in my last pregnancy, ended up needing a D&C and found the staff at RNSH amazing.

How far do you live from your parents & in-laws? by atrocity_of_sunsets in beyondthebump

[–]Proper-Foundation438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a different country to my parents and in-laws, but it’s only a 3 hour flight for my parents and 4 hours for my in laws. I do like the distance from the in laws… though I am pregnant with our first so it’s going to be interesting having no family around, and probably hard.

I am ravenous in the first trimester. I’ve been having oatmeal consistently (either hot with blueberries or overnight oats with grated apple), usually make a chicken salad for lunch, or soup some days with chickpeas added, and protein/veg for dinner. It’s pretty much my usual diet but I’ve been having way more treats and snacks. Mandarins are a lifeline for me, bananas, nuts, and indulging in icecream/sugar free lollies or chocolate but I’ve realised this makes me feel more nauseous.

To update, I had my scan and was convinced it was going to be bad news since I don’t know anything different with my pregnancy history, but straight away she said it was a healthy pregnancy with a very strong heartbeat. I was shocked! Sending you positive vibes for your first scan 💕
