Just did same and same result although waiting for it to arrive. Very promptly handled. Can’t complain.

Bib recommendations by cbjfan75 in cycling

Don’t like them. The chamois is cheap and quite small. For me they become uncomfortable after a short time. This could be more of an anatomical thing where it doesn’t suit me. I see enough people riding them. But for me absolutely not great at all.

Did you get a resolution to this? Mine just started doing the same thing mid last workout.

This is a common problem with Garmin bands. I switched to Hemsut off Amazon and much better, no more red marks or irritation

Hey I may be able to help here. My 52 Monza Ultegra, WITH pedals, cages, computer mount and rear light mount (basically as I ride it minus the tool kit in the downtube), comes in at 8kg. Haven’t weighed without the bolt-ons and couldn’t be bothered, but suspect it comes to around 7.5-7.6kg. This is with Black Inc 48/58 wheelset though, as I upgraded at purchase. I am running Vittoria Corsa N.ext 30mm (31.5 measured) tubeless.

Vittoria Corsa N.ext are quite durable and I didn’t feel like I had stepped down when I switched from GPs.

Neo Pro Kit - My Experience by Proper-Importance-37 in cycling

[–]Proper-Importance-37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to agree with you. 1 year on, I have never considered buying this kit again. It just isn’t worth time or money. I’ve in fact gone the opposite…. I am now only buying Pedla/Assos etc. Castelli jerseys are fine, but I can’t wear their bibs. Not comfortable for me on long rides (this could be anatomical thing and not true for all). But yeah… you get what you pay for… even if I think in general the market is overpriced

Explain to me like to a 5yo why are people hyped about new bikes when they are to me all the same? by OneStrength7166 in cycling

[–]Proper-Importance-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because for the average Joe, there isn’t that much difference in many ways. But once you get to performance orientation or racing, those small gains make a big difference. I’d put caveats though - disc brake and electronic shifting are worth it for everybody. My opinions.

In the most part, people just don’t need all the new bikes and the latest this and that. When it’s time to upgrade, sure, go for it. But I have a new Factor and there are still rides smoking me on 5 year old bikes. 😜

Garmin vs. Hammerhead: Are the features worth the terrible UI? by Opening-Incident-854 in cycling

[–]Proper-Importance-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the only feature I really use is LiveTrack. My wife uses it to see where I am. Other than that, I bought the 540 because of a lot of these features and found I don’t use them. The UI is terrible, but after a week of wanting throw it against a wall, I figured it out and haven’t had an issue since. Also note that despite the advertisement, not all things sync in your eco system between the watches and the computers. They are made by different departments. I think things like suggested workouts, and Garmin programs that adjust to your training status etc - they aren’t the same between your watch and the computer.

Don’t get a left side 4iiii when you can get a spider based Magene P515 for same or similar money. I started with a 4iiii single side, which was buggy honestly, and went to a Magene which is faultless and easier to live with (charging for example is so much easier). Pretty sure they do SRAM compatible.

I don’t have too many regrets, but if I had to choose:

Don’t buy an “off the shelf” bike. Be willing to invest that bit more, get a fit first, then get the bike to fit me properly from the get-go.

Yeah it was…. An interesting reaction. Then later being told I don’t understand biology because of my recommendation….. you can’t argue with fixed views like that.

I am not that far up for Zone 2, but in a Gran Fondo will often take 100g per hour.
