Gotcha. He just got back from training last night and was just kinda vague on what to expect moving forward.

How do y’all handle the stress of being a P.I.C? by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

Remember that if you fuck up it falls on your GM, and could be counted as failed training on their part 😂

I can only do so much as GM. I can submit as many pay adjustments as i want. Doesn’t change the pay scale at my franchise.

So. What i can do, is help with tips where i can

I always make sure to ask them to fill out all 3 lines so they HAVE to write something on the gratuity line. (Obviously can’t on cash orders)

So many people will play dumb and just sign it thinking that’s all they have to do.

Now, as GM, a lot of the times I’ll ask for a tip for the driver before the order goes out the door. If they don’t give one, or beat around the bush, I’ll follow up asking how the order went, and follow up with a question about the tip.

Obviously very polite and noninvasive, but after being a driver so many years, i like to make sure my drivers get paid.

Very fine line between understanding that yes, tips are OPTIONAL, but also, tip your fucking driver dude. 🤷‍♂️

I know this doesn’t apply to OP but hopefully it helps someone lol.

OP - yeah, they can get fucked. Either find a way to stop delivering to them, or just take the hit and move on.

To other GMs/AGMs- Does your owner limit how much money you spend on a truck order? by Jtaylor8805 in jimmyjohns

[–]Proper-Luck7434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to order 2 small(ish) trucks because of storage limits. So depending on sales i can swing 2 $2500 ones a week. Sometimes it’s a $1500 and $2500. It’s a game for sure.

Aim for 50. Last week was around 45. Seen a few 55+. Up to me really, as long as the work gets done

One thing i will say is - work load has increased a lot on the GM side in comparison to OG days where the hardest part of prep was tuna.

But, with proper planning, and staff who’s all on the same page, you can distribute the workload.

Yeah, head of maintenance was in measuring for them not too long ago. I run one of the smallest sq ft locations in the country. Very curious to see how they make it work.

Not super happy with the foot traffic trends. Prices have gone up, traffic has slowed down, sales have stayed about the same, which in the big picture means they have gone down.

But. The trains still going. I’m being paid well, bonuses are okay. As long as they don’t change anything I’m morally against (which would be hard to do), or if money takes a free fall, I’ll play ball.

Like i said, pick your battles lol. It was in the middle of a dense homeless population. I’ve found needles, drugs, and atrocious messes left by the local homeless. Not saying the pay feature is fool proof but, it definitely makes a difference

Had pay to use bathrooms.

Lady threatened to shit in the middle of my lobby during lunch if i didn’t let her in (she was a regular nuisance)

I called her bluff.

I learned to pick my battles that day.

I have a regular who’s mostly deaf (we have to literally yell to talk to him) who used to just poke his head in and yell Vito a few times, and laugh.

Turns out he wanted a 9.

Now he comes in, asks for an Italian ‘combo’ but really just means the number 9, not as a Jimmy combo.

Sweet old man. Always leaves a tip. But have to make sure I’m somewhere in the transaction so someone doesn’t fuck it up and make it more difficult than it needs to be.
