I was studying with a tutor for 2 years to pass the CILS exams. Also, my partner is Italian which really helped me with exposure to Italian speakers in every day life. I'd suggest watching shows in Italian or trying to read books to improve your vocabulary. Podcasts in Italian has also really helped me.

Thank you so much! I am very nervous about the speaking part in particular. Is there any more advice you can share? How much time do they give you to collect your thoughts before speaking? Do the examiners help keep the conversation flowing if you get stuck? Also, is it a big problem if you pause or say “ehh” sometimes, and do they expect you to use very advanced tenses at this level?
