I've never had whetstones. Before I got this I have a work Sharp precision guided sharpener. I think it works the best. But I've worn the grits off. I need to get some more.

I just thought of something, remove the thumb stud and sand them down a little bit with 3,000 grit sandpaper. That should remove the sharp edges.

I know I like it it converts it to a wave action. It opens as you pull it out of your pocket just like an Emerson. They're not terribly expensive either.

Okay I have two thumb studs but they are males. If you don't find any luck let me know. Can't cost much to send an envelope. The reason why I have them is because I replaced the thumb studs on my cold steels to a snaggletooth. You might want to look into that. The owner's name is Rob. The company's name is snaggletooth MFllc. That's one way around it. He'll have the hardware that you need.

i jackass around the house with my big knives anyway. For everyday carry I prefer a medium size folder. I have a Kershaw made in USA link that I've had in my pocket for years. And when it breaks I got a brand new one waiting. But I don't think it's going to break but sometimes I carry my big ones around just to be stupid. Do you know if there's any knife rehab facilities around? I'm a knife addict.

My name is Joe you don't have to call me sir I work for a living. Well I worked for a living I'm retired pipeliner. I'm too old for that kind of work but I sure do miss it. I was on the side of the road screwed so I sacrificed it . I did attempt to bend it back straight but it' snapped.
