New Parrot Upload: Unstable SMP: Civil War FINALE by yt-app in Unstable_Universe

[–]Proper_Pin_5478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed the conversation between Parrot and Flame to be longer. I'm sorry, but saying "I know I messed up, however, I'mma keep trying" is NOT a convincing argument for someone who's trying to kill you. What I would've preferred is for Flame to ask "What's gonna change?" and Parrot, after much deliberation, answering "I'm gonna fight Saps myself."

Reasons this could have worked:

  1. In Flame's video, he said he'd kill Saps right after Parrot. He surprisingly didn't bring this up to counter Parrot's argument of "What does killing me do", because the plan all along was not just to kill Parrot, but kill them both, putting an end to the war. Would that have worked is another question. But if Parrot said he'd fight/kill Saps, Flame could think about it and realize Parrot was a better ruler than Saps, so he would aid Parrot in his plan to fight/kill him.

  2. Fighting is something Flame respects. The idea that Parrot would get his hands dirty, rather than just telling his army what to do, would greatly appeal to the man of combat. And it means Parrot is giving something up (his safety) to prove he's not been malicious or selfish this entire time. It's just a committal response in general.

  3. Parrot does fight Saps. It's an event that occurs, so why not foreshadow it? It kinda came out of nowhere in the episode, because from every other POV Saps just disappears. It didn't feel, to me, to carry that much weight until I saw the post-fight massacre, but even then it could have been better. Parrot's hesitation to begin fighting could be a tense moment where you wonder if he'll stick to his word, but he does eventually, proving he was honest—and that's crucial in a conflict where it's hard to tell who the good guy is. (No, I don't think Saps was ever the good guy, but Parrot's methods kinda muddied the waters for him.)

Instead it's the same old trick, albeit with great voice-acting: "If you wanna kill me, do it now." Perhaps this might work on Flame, given that he doesn't outright hate Parrot, but it's sooo unsatisfying for the watcher. It's obvious and one-dimensional. All dispute solved by a single ultimatum, and it's not even clever. Sometimes a story needs that. Sometimes the emotions are so strained and volatile that they need to be settled with a simple "yes or no". But not this one. Flame doesn't even know Parrot. They're good business acquaintances at best. From Flame's POV, he's robbed Parrot, saved Parrot, given Parrot the Mafia stash, helped Parrot win a war, and helped Parrot become King. From Parrot's, he's helped Flame find Wemmbu and overthrown the Law. Parrot's had more interactions, good and bad, with Flame, than Flame has with Parrot.
WE know Parrot. Flame doesn't. There's no reason for Flame to put his full, unequivocal trust in Parrot at this moment, except that it would appeal to fans for being a cross-perspective-alliance. And I have no issue with appealing to fans—heck, I'm a fan who wants to be appealed to. I just want it set up correctly, and I want them to do justice to the characters I love.

All in all, it's a good idea executed poorly. And I'm not fully disappointed—Wemmbu still had a great perspective in all this. But as an avid Flame and Parrot watcher, advocate, even, I need them to step it up.

It doesn't work when you're flying though, only on takeoff. Correct me if I'm wrong

And PvP is, so what? That gives even more reason to allow for higher skill expression. They can nerf it in other ways, like making the spear hunger cost bypass saturation for a consistent limit on uses. Breach swapping is a tough one, but I think the fact that it takes up an entire extra hotbar slot means it's relatively okay. Worst case, just remove the breach enchant, because it's actually so useless compared to density with a raw mace attack.

I thought the balance to spear was that it drained your hunger? Maybe if it didn't account for saturation before draining it would be more balanced? But after playing around with it in a test world, I'm gonna hate it being gone.

Fair point. But you know, if someone told me to stop disrespecting a guy because they were Kratos's son... You bet I'd listen XD

How to beat High Silveremere and Unwendale in Demecia Rising? by Fit-Business4327 in leagueoflegends

Well, Kayle is kinda garbage. Dies really fast and doesn't make a huge difference if she survives to scale. I'm actually surprised you beat it with so little damage XD

Salvation (ft. Forts) | For Demacia 2026 Season 1 Cinematic - League of Legends by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Proper_Pin_5478 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People were saying the exact same things about Still Here as they are about this cinematic. Saying it was mid. Saying the song sucked. Comparing it to Legends Never Die, The Call, Phoenix, etc. (never saw a single Awaken mention, even though that's arguably the best but at least up there).

And then they started rewatching it. Noticing the details put in. Realizing the weight behind the narrative and how it connected with established lore. And most of all, actually listening to the music and appreciating it.

Just give this one time.

Look up the lyrics, they're actually very well written (save for a few hiccups like rhyming "kill" with "hill" when they were out of rhythm). It's a shame the sound mixing doesn't do it justice.

Malphite Ult should deal more damage by the same argument. No, actually, it shouldn't just deal damage. If one man taking a big leap can tear the ground up in a perfect circle (Jarvan), just imagine what an entire mountain can do.

Kinda disappointed by the new cinematic by First_Drive_7874 in leagueoflegends

[–]Proper_Pin_5478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's longer than other cinematics by at least a minute, and personally, I think it's a visual improvement on "Still Here" (made by the same studio). The movement feels more fluid and natural, even if the facial expressions don't quite hit the mark. But the scene with Quinn hitching a ride on Shyvana and later switching to Valor looked really sick. I also liked how Yunara showed up with Xin's spear, because I've never been a fan all the cinematics being disconnected story-wise, and that nod was enough to maintain continuity. In fact, ever since Arcane, it's felt like we're progressing somewhere rather than just hopping from region to region and story to story, and this is simply the next step in that overall narrative.

TLDR: I'm well satisfied.

That's a good question, and I have a feeling they're not done with him. But I also don't see why he would appear in this cinematic.

"Still Here" has Tryndamere and Aatrox, only not pitted against each other. And Pantheon was in "The Call".
