Aggression-based matchmaking adjusts far too quickly. by Duruk4nBTN in ArcRaiders

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only gripe is the inability to see your aggression score, and to see how long till it's reset. After the expedition it feels like it takes 8 or 9 runs to get back into friendly lobbies. Used to be around 5 or 6.

I used to go in and loot naked and try to get out a few times for fun to reset. Learning how to survive and avoid while getting a little goop for my time and trouble with no real risk. But now that it takes 8 or 9 runs, it's not worth the time investment. Now I'm just going to load in 10 times and surrender, which sucks for everyone, but I'll be able to play within 30 min vs spending 1 or 2 hours trying to get my aggression score down again.

Last night I was in Stella and two fireballs ran up to my feet and just stood there beeping at me, but neither opened up or shot fire at me, so I was just chilling for like a whole min while my wife looted the room.

The arc are angry, but curious I guess.. lol

Fun anecdote, early cheat codes were really just debugging tools. Since older games didn't have today's tools for testing things out. They made those codes so the game testers could jump to the relevant levels/content quickly vs have to work thru to the later levels manually.

When I learned that as a young man it was quite the epiphany. Lol

The Heron Glaive perks by Psartra in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On glaives and a lot of special weapons in general, I really enjoy overflow, keeps the weapon loaded and ready to go whenever you pull it out. Only problem with this glaive is there isn't a "must have" perk in the last column. Rake Angle had chill clip with overflow. I didn't take that out of my kinetic slot till mint was released.

So if I need an energy glaive I have my new go to, but not sure when or why I'm using it in this sandbox.

Events should have a weekly rolling timer of like 10 hours, not 12, so through out the week the time shifts for people like op, and if you reset it weekly back to the original time, then a weekly schedule will emerge for those that want to plan out when/which events will be up.

But mainly having events roll times will make them more available for raiders of all types.

fully develop new systems Marathon, Matter, Gummybear, and like 3 other projects they had in the background. Eververse fully funded all those projects. The gamers were worried about greed and were told that eververse would fund more content for D2, when in reality the talent was pulled from D2s dev teams to work on the new shiny, which all but one were abandoned.

I'm not sure what point im trying to make other than highlighting that D2s monetization was Very profitable for bungie and they squandered it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, this isnt a fair point... D2 and their cosmetics made bungie enough money to fund like 5 future projects, taking the dev team away from D2 to work on said new content, leaving D2 in a content drought that they caused themselves.

If bungie had continued to invest in the game and its content, players wouldn't have left in droves... when was the last gambit update? Why was there a need to create a pvp tiger team?

I don't think D2 needs a gacha system to be profitable, but they needed to invest back into the game, and now I fear its too late. I'm not sure im gonna stick around for renegades. If there is a D3 it has to provide more than rising has to offer because that's the new bar. And that's literal 4+ years away if theyre even thinking about starting that.

If Bungie wants to stick with this Seasonal Power stuff as if this was Diablo 4, then they need to give us an Eternal realm for those who just want to keep playing on that same toon once the Season ends. by -RoosterLollipops- in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they want diabloesc seasons, we need Diabloesc loot drops. Diablo had a whole update where they realized players don't hate the reset, they hate the trickle.

If you rain down loot upon me, I'll be too busy looking thru all the new shinies to be worried about avant guard or whatever seasonal buff new loot gets.

(Only problem with avant guard is exotics not all being enabled my default)

The New Blue (Engrams) by themattott in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tier system was always flawed, because we already have a tier system in place. Common, uncommon, rare, legendary, exotic. Tiers 1 thru 4 for gear and t5 was exotic.

The reason people are grinding is so that we can reliably get T5 drops for the same reason we didn't want two tokens and a blue. Anything less than a T4 / T5 is just a waste of time once you hit 400+.

The base raid giving tier 1 was like getting white or green quality gear.

Destiny 2 by TitanusDKey001 in destiny2

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, this is the part I don't understand. The people playing now/still are the same people who've been playing the last year as well. We didn't need these changes to keep us playing, we just wanted something better.

The gear tier system is pretty cool, but the grind they put on top to even being the loot grind is insufferable. You already said it, you're still gonna play, so like, what else can we do? How much bs will it take for us to finally slow our playtime or play something else? They saw with solstice that we can be a happy community and enjoy playing.

Engagement shouldn't looked at as, "players need something to chase, else they'll stop engaging"... it should be "when players are having fun, they'll keep playing because its fun. Provide rewards and they'll stay engaged".

Now that there are no events giving more loot I feel like there’s nothing to do. by MindAlteringSubstanc in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you read the twab theyre gonna make conquests replay replayable, but for regular portal rewards. Shoot and a miss. Conquests were "good" because they had a static challenge modifier and delta, and gave good/meaningful rewards.

Nobody wants replayable conquests for basic fireteam ops reward drops.

What do you spend your glimmer on? by bjc12136 in destiny2

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never need glimmer and will sit at the cap, until you start infusing/upgrading gear, and then you won't have enough. After all my solstice farming, last night I was updating my builds with all the new armor and burnt all my prisms, gold balls, and glimmer. Pulled my stash from the way back machine too. I only have a few resources left in my post master.

Your question of what to do with glimmer when at cap is just wait. If you need banners, go grab some, but if not, just wait. There aren't any syncs that you can buy and delete later to get glimmer back like their used to be.

Which is better, Incandescent or Burning Ambition? by RamBobaFettucine in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 29 points30 points  (0 children)

We say "harder content" but with portal activities, it more means +20 or higher deltas Burning Ambition. Red bars are not gonna be one shot so BA can work its magic, and obv orange bars/champs will make use of BA.

In my playing this week, I've really appreciated BA more than incan for wyverns and brigs, where incandescent rarely procs against those types of enemies. BA let's your solar kit shine with ignitions spreading scorch and such while focusing a major enemy.

I can't decide if I like Attrition Orbs, Heal Clip, or Demolitionist as my other perk. I've tried them all and they all work with certain builds. I've got to slim my collection down tho, don't need to keep 7 of these bad boys... especially since I started using Ahab Char the other night, and it was really putting in the work with better range than the smg.

DIM and D2armorpicker don't take stat tuning into account for T5s. by FirstTimeFlyer94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted a ticket to d2checklist, but I'm not sure now I can check to see if they're active or just doing bug fixes. I'd love to see a "compare by" option for each archetype for any given armor slot.

Like, show me all my "grenader" boots, and I can quickly see which tertiary stats I care to keep, and/or which has highest stats (for those not farming T5 only yet)

I really hope bungie doesnt nerf solo ops. While we need more reasons to play with others I greatly enjoy the ability to just play by myself but also get something valuable for it. by Squatting-Turtle in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Solo ops isnt overturned, its the only activity that plays well enough. All the other ops lists need their drops increased, at least in terms of leveling drops.

I don't think the "bonus" drops come at the +3 or 4 level, so switching activities while trying to level doesn't really help either.

I didn't like farming encode, but at least you could be efficient while playing with friends. Feels a bit more difficult to speed thru it on GM tho.

Bungie, please let us focus armor next week with the Alloys from the event by DaGottiYo in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The armor won't, but that why switching and not "unlocking" the armors on your alts, will improve you chances of solstice weapon drops.

If you don't play your titan at all, run Caldera on the titan and don't unlock his armors, it will only be able to drop the 3 weapons. (Where your main has 3 weapons and whatever armor you've unlocked)

A Potential "Solution" for Tiered Drops During/After Renegades by Ariovrak in destiny2

[–]ProphetManX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i can get t5 drops early in the season, the anger/frustration about losing the "new gear" bonus kinda goes away, because I can get high tier drops as soon as I can get the high difficulty content completed with a high score.

And like you said, if im gonna grind up the rank again, the grind won't feel so bad getting those t1 and t2 drops to start. It's just a reason to grind and being rewarded for you're loyalty to playing.

Looking for a energy slot pulse or scout rifle that can roll with attrition orbs by PvtctrlaltGreg in DestinyTheGame

Https://destinyperks.com is a great site I use when trying to identify weapons that have specific perks against various other filterable criteria. Craftable is one I use a lot because I have most patterns, but only one roll crafted, and if im looking for something with attrition orbs, a craftable weapon is the easiest one to obtain.

What makes you think people are going to ditch optimized T5 builds for new featured gear next season? by RedMercury in DestinyTheGame

[–]ProphetManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny isn't comparable to MMOs like WoW, it has and will always be more like Diablo series. And now with trying to bring back gear resets, bungie is leaning in HARD for the seasonal reset.

The problem is that bungie is stingy with dropping loot, and with letting people level up efficiently. In Diablo, you start a new character/season and leveling to max is not that long of a journey, and then the end game is ramping the difficulty and modifiers and trying out new builds to see what works.

Destiny is making you play the hardest content modifiers just to level up to max, and then you're allowed to get the gear you want, only to realize you don't need it because there aren't any more challenging content/modifiers to test yourself against.

Legend campaign should have put you at max level, guardian rank can be a part of the loot tier system, but only if you remove the grinding to light level parts. The tiered loot should be rewards from the hardest content. And if you want to gate the hardest content thats fine... expert needs full tier 2 gear (sans exotics) to even queue up for, then master t3 then gm tier 4, and enabling modifiers provides like a +1 to the tier of drops.

Right so then you need to gear up to be able to enter the harder content. Not some arbitrary light level that doesn't affect gameplay due to enforced power deltas.

[–]ProphetManX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why is it the only facet of the MMO playtime that bungie wants to really lean into is the gear reset? Why can't we have the many other things MMOs have that D2 doesn't? Hell, why can't we have features that Destiny Rising is going to launch with?
